Grinding Ingredients[edit]

I'm bundling the question below (about grinding wheat) and the claim in the article (about grinding tusks) in a single discussion topic. I have not been able to grind anything with the millstones, but if anyone can confirm the rumors and provide some details... Krag 13:44, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

My friend claimed to have placed wheat in the mill, turning it into flour by using the stone. Sadly, he also claimed to have done it once, and had forgotten HOW to preform this action. Is anyone able to verify this claim, at all? I do not yet have the game, sadly, and fear (I'm sure, actually) he's full of crap. There seemed to be no way to place the wheat in it witout actualy PLACING the plant in it. If that's how, then there may be a numeber of times that you must turn the wheel. Again, assuming he's not just full of it.NickTyrong 01:49, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
i found a Grain mill, placed a wheat on it, by dropping it, and turned it about 6 times, to no result, i then placed a few more pieces on and turned it about 5 times, again nothing, then for full closure, i ordered my follower to turn it, just once but it proved to do nothing, i then placed a horker tusk on it and again turned it a few times, it again proved to do nothing, my follower turning it did nothing either. Then i placed a Mammoth Tusk on it, and turned it several times again, as i guessed nothing, for full closure again i got my follower to try, nothing again, can anyone else suggest something else to try? An update. He claims it was likely a glitch, as he has not been able to reproduce it, nor recalls how it was preformed. So... likely full of it.NickTyrong 00:05, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

This is my experience on the XBox 360: I toyed with the mill in Ivarstead for a few minutes, with no results. After activating the mill and while watching the animation, the "Activate Mill/Press A" text was still displayed on the screen, so I was hoping for further interaction with the mill. Pressing "A" (as instructed) simply ended the animation. Evil-i 22:11, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

Economy[edit]

How exactly does it improve the economy? Im assuming lower prices, but in most the places the only salesperson is the innkeeper. (Eddie The Head 09:00, 3 December 2011 (UTC))

I would guess that whoever wrote that is confusing something paraphrased somewhere else (maybe in a guidebook). The statement itself is very vague. Perhaps somewhere it was described as 'helping/improving' the town/townspeople and they assumed it meant economically. I would guess it only 'helps' in a role-playing way (in your own head) or it improves the disposition of certain townspeople. I would support that it be removed until someone can offer better support of an economic change. --Amsuko 03:22, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Actually, bethesda said there was an economy system in the pre-release stuff and that wood chopping and the like would improve it, I'm just wondering what it actually does. (Eddie The Head 03:26, 21 February 2012 (UTC))

Mill Glitch?[edit]

This "glitch" happens when the character uses a mill (those small wheat grinding things) and the character somehow loses grip of the mill and starts to uncontrollably move about as if he is drunk, the player can barely use the controller to move the character due to it seeming to go in the opposite direction or something similar... has this occured to anyone else? Now active.[edit]

Just checked a few sites, and yes I know I am horribly late. But the mill does work for grinding after you get the hearthfire dlc. — Unsigned comment by 96.38.143.127 (talk) at 00:24 on 14 January 2014 (GMT)

Yes, they are supposed to start working after implementing Hearthfire, but some of them are not working properly, and some still not at all. —MortenOSlash (talk) 06:03, 15 January 2014 (GMT)
