Quarried Stone Location[edit]

Quarried stone can be found to the right of Iron Breaker mine in Dawnstar. Ckntem (talk) 16:48, 4 September 2012 (EDT)

Purchasing improvements[edit]

On this video, roughly at 0:48, you can see the options on the Steward's menu. It shows that Horse, Cow and Chicken can be purchased once there is a Steward appointed. ~[1] Cepsita (talk) 03:11, 5 September 2012 (EDT)Cepsita

Ebony Blade?[edit]

Why is the ebony blade marked as a item you can get? Thought that was a Daedric Quest item. — Unsigned comment by 69.205.235.40 (talk) at 18:57 on 5 September 2012‎

It is from a daedric quest. I removed from the page 174.253.199.206 15:03, 5 September 2012 (EDT)

Display Cases[edit]

What's the deal with the display cases? Aren't they supposed to be able to hold weapons by activating them? Pmrx78 (talk) 18:45, 5 September 2012 (EDT)

Where is the Churn for butter?[edit]

I don't see it as an option to make from the workbenches and I know milk can be bought from food vendors and supposedly flour comes from wind grind mills with use of wheat.--67.185.108.121 01:16, 6 September 2012 (EDT)

It's added to the kitchen addition if you choose that option. — ABCface 01:27, 6 September 2012 (EDT)
It's not in my kitchen :/--67.185.108.121 01:32, 6 September 2012 (EDT)
*EDIT* Finally got it to appear in my kitchen, you have to use the drafting table to furnish the kitchen, it's either one of the tables or cabnets, it doesn't appear in kitchen right away and I click on it once to get 1 butter I'm not sure when it respawns. — Unsigned comment by 67.185.108.121 (talk) at 06:13 on 6 September 2012‎
Does the Churn ever respawn?--67.185.108.121 10:36, 6 September 2012 (EDT)

() 1. The Churn doesn't appear to ever respawn it just gives you butter one time then done.--67.185.108.121 20:46, 6 September 2012 (EDT)

I have had the churn respawn, but I looted it, then asked my steward to completely furnish the kitchen, and when i got back, i could loot it again, maybe that was what did it. 67.170.48.108 20:56, 6 September 2012 (EDT)
Did you pay 1,500 for it?--67.185.108.121 23:12, 6 September 2012 (EDT)
Ok I just tried to get my steward to furnish the kitchen and the churn still doesn't work.--67.185.108.121 01:09, 7 September 2012 (EDT)
Butter from the churn, like the jugs of milk that should be near by, will refill as time passes. It may be conditional upon having a cow as that is where milk and cream come from. If you have a cow and no milk or butter in your furnished kitchen, just wait. Lactation will happen. — Unsigned comment by 98.150.205.41 (talk) at 15:23 on 23 February 2013

Butter & Sack of Flour[edit]

Just bought Butter from an Inkeeper! It's under Food for them, not ingredients. Not sure where Salmon Roe is located other than in the furnished kitchen of your house. --67.185.108.121 10:44, 6 September 2012 (EDT)

And an update to this, Just got a Sack of Flour from another Inkeeper. They seem to have these in very minimum amounts like 1 each and it's not guaranteed that they would have Either --67.185.108.121 13:34, 6 September 2012 (EDT)
I have found that certain items are more common than others. For instance, I have encountered so much flour that I have no clue what to do with it all. Large and small sacks, as well as barrels, in random map locations seem to yield at the most 4-5 sacks. As for the other items, it has been mostly a miss. I have not found very many, at all, either in containers or on enemies; I did find butter on a bandit once, same goes for a jug of milk. Purchasing seems to be even more challenging, at least for me. After travelling from city to city, in total I was able to buy one milk in Markarth and one surilie brothers wine in Solitude, both in the inns. I have not found these items on any other merchant, as far as I can tell. Even though, on the other side of things, building materials items seem to be more common, with larger amounts (double digits)for most general merchants, as it should be. And just so you know, salmon roe can be found when collecting from salmon that jump up waterfalls, key thing being the jumping fish, not the swimming kind. --174.112.217.1 10:24, 8 September 2012 (EDT)
almost every food vendor or innkeeper I went to had at least 1-3 bottles of Surrilee Wine. I did find a few that had Argonian Bloodwine, I do miss Tamkika's West Weald Wine though. I do have to say that Butter and Argonian blood wine are alot rarer than ebony ore :/--67.185.108.121 11:46, 8 September 2012 (EDT)
I get a couple of flour and a couple of milk pretty often, but have not been able to find butter anywhere outside my kitchen. Quite fustrating, considering how often it is needed for baking. I wish you could actually use the churn in the kitchen to turn the milk into butter! --106.68.73.186 13:39, 4 November 2013 (GMT)

Green Robe[edit]

My daughter (in game) just gave me what appears to be a new clothing item, a Green Robe. It is similar in appearance to the Blue Robe from the original game only it has faint black markings across the breast and thigh. I do not know if this item is solely available through your children, but I have not seen it elsewhere (in game or on the internet) and wished to bring attention to it's existence. Perhaps other such apparel items exist within Hearthfire. Garland (talk) 20:13, 8 September 2012 (EDT)

Actually, the Green Robes did already exist. However, you could not obtain them in the original version of the game. The way we handled such information for Dawnguard is by adding to the notes section (see the note about the werewolf pelt here) so we should handle this the same way for Hearthfire. A note should also be added to the item's entry on the appropriate page (this part has already been done for this item). Please be on the lookout for any other items like this as well. — ABCface 08:51, 9 September 2012 (EDT)

Quarried Stone[edit]

Do stone quarries replete like clay deposits once you empty them? 76.111.181.86 15:35, 9 September 2012 (EDT)

As far as I can tell, Quarry Stone and Clay Deposits do not deplete so you can get all your stone for all three Hearthfire player homes in one go. — Unsigned comment by 98.214.12.59 (talk) at 17:12 on 15 January 2013

The Fork of Misinformation[edit]

Noticed that there's been some back and forth as to whether the weaponised fork is in the base game or added by Hearthfire. Can anyone confirm the Fork weapon is in the base game and if so where it is documented (I can't see mention of it on the weapons pages, though I might be being blind) Threepwood87 (talk) 08:17, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

There is a fork in the base game which can be used as a weapon (see the weapon record from game-data), but I wasn't able to find it on the wiki last night either. I'm sure I've seen the info on UESP somewhere before, but with our search function not working correctly, I can't find the info at the moment. (If you'd like to find the original fork in-game, look on the back porch of Honeyside after purchasing that upgrade). Anyway, the version added by Hearthfire is an entirely new version, with a different appearance, weight, and damage.
I'd like to post the information (weight, value, damage, and tempering info) of the last three non-book items on this page, but I'm struggling trying to find a place for the information. At first, I was going to rename the Children's Apparel section to "Children's Items" and just add a note that the Wooden Sword could be used as a player weapon, and I think this would have worked just fine... until I found the new fork. Now, I'll probably end up renaming that section and putting the Child's Doll there, and group the new Fork and the Wooden Sword with the other fork, wherever it is... but I can't find it. — ABCface 09:06, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
Here? Did you use Ctrl + F? xD ~ Psylocke 09:17, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
That is the miscellaneous object version of the fork, not the weapon version. They have different baseIDs. — ABCface 09:19, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
My bad. It's this one then :D ~ Psylocke 09:22, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
Ah, thank you! I hadn't thought of looking at the bottom of that overly long page! Well, in that case, I'll put the data for the two new weapons there, and create a disambig for our three forks. Thanks Psylock! :D — ABCface 09:24, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
Thanks Psylocke - that will teach me for trying to squint through item tables on my iPhone. Threepwood87 (talk) 09:31, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

() Turns out I was right the first time, my bad. I've removed it again. — ABCface 18:06, 23 September 2012 (GMT)

Sawn Log merchants?[edit]

The article isn't clear on where Sawn Logs can be purchased. There's a link on the page to wood mills, but does this mean that those mills are the only places Sawn Logs can be purchased, or can you also purchase them at the wood mills found in towns like Riverwood and Ivarstead? Also, using the wood mill in Falkreath doesn't give you free logs (tried it), and I wonder if this means logs can only be obtained by purchasing them and not by cutting them yourself. 76.181.68.59 15:26, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

By fluke, I have personal experience of both questions - my first batch of Sawn Logs was bought from the mill in Riverwood (specifically, from Hod), so I imagine that sawn logs can be bought from any mill owner. During that transaction with Hod I bought 20 logs and collected a further 4 for myself. Returning to my new home, I had 24 logs in the inventory. Presumably the best way to list the mill owners (and therefore the sawn log merchants, if we can verify the above) would be to use the JobLumberjackFaction somehow, though unfortunately my knowledge of linking to characters via faction is limited. Threepwood87 (talk) 16:16, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
I took the faction members from CSList and added them to that Faction link. Of course, we'd have to verify that this is the list used if we're going to link to that... — ABCface 16:41, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
I don't have access to the game right now, but I DEFINITELY approached Gerdur for sawn logs, and didn't get the dialogue option - and she's in the faction. So perhaps the Lumberjack faction is not the determining factor... It may have been an unlucky glitch with her, but I'm also suspicious that both Sven and Faendal are on that list. I think the FavorJobsChopWoodFaction may be the right bet after all. I might get chance to do a little digging into this tomorrow night, though this might be something more easily ironed out once the PC plugin is released. Threepwood87 (talk) 16:56, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
Yeah, I've got testing this stuff on my to-do list for tonight when my kiddo's sleeping. For now, I'll add the members to the faction link for the other faction as well. — ABCface 16:58, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

() Also, I know I've purchased from Kharag gro-Shurkul and he's not on the Chop Wood list... So it may not be as easy as we're hoping anyway... =\ — ABCface

Hert of Half-Moon Mill, Thonnir of Morthal,Bolund of Falkreath Grey Pine Goods, Hod of Riverwood, Not sure of Dragonbridge, Gilfre of Mixwater Mill, Grosta of Heartwood Mill, Aeri of Anga's Mill, Not sure who of Ivarstead, and I'm also not sure about the Mill near Kynesgrove. Anyhow those are the Above that sell sawn logs. --67.185.108.121 20:18, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
Okay, I've checked all the NPCs in each of the two factions brought up in this discussion, with the exception of Hern (I didn't have the appropriate saves to check him). I came up with seven NPCs that will definitely sell lumber, four of which are in both the FavorJobsChopWoodFaction and the JobLumberjackFaction, while the other three are only in the latter faction. So it's not determined by either faction (we may find out it's determined by a brand new faction added by Hearthfire, though there's no way of knowing without looking into game-data... which is unlikely to happen until Hearthfire comes out for PC). Those who will sell lumber are Aeri, Bolund, Gilfre, Grosta, Hert, Hod, Kharag gro-Shurkul, and Thonnir (the ones 67.185.108.121 listed by name were correct).
As for cutting the lumber for free, I was able to do so only at the mills run by the four which are members of the FavorJobsChopWoodFaction, and I had to raise their disposition first. For Aeri, Gilfre, and Hert, I sold firewood, and for Grosta, I found her husband. Anyway, I'm going to be creating a page for cutting lumber, similar to the Milling page, which will of course be linked from here and from the Activities page. That page is where everything regarding sawn logs will go (I'll move the redirect there once it's made), so that the entry on this page can be a simple summary as it should be. — ABCface 04:31, 16 September 2012 (GMT)

Free Sawn Logs[edit]

I've only found two locations that can offer sawn logs for free; you cut them yourself and get 10 sawn logs per log processed. Heartwood Mill and Anga's Mill are two such locations I have found; do not know of any others. I do not know if a prerequisite mission is required to allow for them to like you, as I did both Anga and Grosta's misc. mission beforehand. Can anybody else confirm and possibly add into the wiki? I know people would rather pay the 200 coins, but I am sure some would love this information. --174.112.217.1 22:10, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

See the above discussion topic for details on this. The information should be added to the wiki within the next day or so. — ABCface 04:33, 16 September 2012 (GMT)
Free logs can be acquired by any mill owner considered your "friend". Such as Hod and Anga you can give or sell firewood to Anga and in turn makes her a friendly NPC, with Hod I Believe you have to help Raloph in the quest Unbound along with selling firewood. There is no specific amount you must sell, in fact 1 would suffice, as far as the other mills they might have separate quests for you to do before considered friendly towards you but in my experience it has just been selling chopped firewood. I have not tested them all. (3,25,2016) By: "Unknown, skyrim, Player"

Pagenames for Books[edit]

In the CK there are two additional notes, with problematic names. They are called:

  • Letter from Steward of <Alias=HoldCity>
  • Letter from Jarl <Alias=Jarl> of <Alias=HoldCity>

Two other, we already have:

The wiki-software doesn't allow < and > in page titles, so we need to find some other titles for those, but I'm not really sure what good titles would be. --Alfwyn (talk) 16:06, 7 October 2012 (GMT)

Quarried stone[edit]

Can't Find Goat Horns[edit]

Discussion moved from User talk:70.68.144.213.

I am a big skyrim player and have put in the time but i also dan not find ANY GOAT HORNS i am very disapointed...— Unsigned comment by 97.82.137.139 (talk) on 17 September at 16:01

Goats occasionally drop goat horns. They are also usually sold by general merchants. •WoahBro►talk 20:10, 17 September 2013 (GMT)
