Gloth's AI[edit]

This has been marked as a question that needs to be answered.

"Gloth lacks the key to the farmhouse and. As a result, will often be trapped until the door is unlocked."

Gloth remaining inside the farmhouse has nothing to do with his lack of a key. After all, pickpocketing keys away from NPCs who actually have them does not at all impede them from going about their usual routines. After observing Gloth, it appears the problem relates to his AI and the activities he's meant to perform while working outside. While outside, Gloth will alternate between raking hay and feeding chickens. However, whenever I left the area and returned, Gloth would be standing completely idle in front of the farmhouse and would not resume his activities until I interacted with him (speaking with him works). It appears that he "stalls" for some reason related to his outdoor chores and requires prompting from the player, which is likely the reason he stays in the farmhouse all day. Sawmill workers (e.g. Hod of Riverwood) all share a similar issue where they'll be stuck in their homes until the player either a) enters their home or, b) operates the sawmill him/herself.174.0.116.189 14:31, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

I removed the key part, other NPCs do lack a key to their house. The question still remains as to why he gets trapped by the door. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 23:39, 30 December 2012 (GMT)
The main page now says it is because his persistence location has not been set. I'm not sure what that means. --Morrolan (talk) 03:12, 2 April 2013 (GMT)

Gloth's RefID[edit]

When I open console command annd clicked on him, I found out that "0002C929" is not his RefID but his BaseID. Someone can post the Gloth's correct RefID. (I found out because I tried to set his persistence location with Console Command. It doesn't work.--202.80.214.67 06:45, 19 September 2023 (UTC))
