Moved from the article[edit]

I replaced the following from the article with a link to Spell Cost:

In enchanting, Fortify Alteration decreases the cost of Alteration spells. This reduction is stacked additively with other Fortify Alteration Enchantments and multiplicatively with other cost reductions. For example, an Alteration spell cast while wearing 2 pieces of -25% enchanted gear and the corresponding -50% perk will cost (1 - (0.25 + 0.25)) * 0.5 = 25% of its full cost, times the skill multiplier.
On the other hand, an Alteration spell cast while wearing all 4 pieces of -25% enchanted gear will be cast for free, no matter what the other factors are because 1 - (0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25) = 0. This holds true for Fortify <Magic School> Enchanted gear of every kind.

While this description is a bit more verbose than what can be found at that link, I think it will be easier to get it right on one page, than to distribute that information on every fortify skill page. For example this misses the dual casting modifier. --Alfwyn (talk) 20:23, 26 January 2014 (GMT)

As was almost to be expected, enchantment use cost for weapons is affected too. Those seem to use mostly the same formula as spell costs. The only complication here is, that there are rare cases of enchantments with effects from different schools. Then the cost of each effect has to be considered separately and added, instead of using just a single enchantment base cost. Not sure where and how to document that. --Alfwyn (talk) 21:57, 26 January 2014 (GMT)
