Followers using scrolls?[edit]

Is it possible for followers to use this spell (or any mind altering spell) if given a scroll for it?--82.46.168.98 23:17, 1 November 2013 (GMT)

There was some discussion here about followers and scrolls, but I don't think anything about this one was mentioned. It may be worth reading though, I just took a quick scan of the page to find the section and didn't read it thoroughly. — ABCface 02:57, 2 November 2013 (GMT)

Calm Has Opposite Effect?[edit]

Is there a bug that makes Calm have the opposite effect, as in, it makes non-aggressive people attack you?

I was in Morthal and I cast Calm on the kids for the interaction where they see magic and ask you to turn them invisible. They said, "That was fun, do it again," an no one minded. Then I talked to the Jarl about the fire. When I came out I accidentally cast calm on a guard and the whole town attacked me. I had cast it on guards in Whiterun and no one cared. Now whenever I cast Calm on someone non-aggressive they attack me. — Unsigned comment by 98.160.100.108 (talk) at 07:13 on 3 December 2013

[After some testing it looks like Calm is doing damage to the target. So is my Turn Lesser Undead. I'm playing with a few mods but none of them claim to affect spells in any way and I haven't changed anything since the last time these spells worked properly. All I did was go into the jarl's house in Morthal and talk to her and now my spells work differently.] — Unsigned comment by 98.160.100.108 (talk) at 02:42 on 4 December 2013‎

It's possible you've managed to pick up a "dirty" mod (one that has unintentional changes saved with it). The best way to figure out if it's a mod causing the problem is to save your game, disable all the mods just for testing, then try to cast Calm on a few people again and see what happens. If it behaves the way it should, then you can selectively re-enable the mods until you figure out which one's causing the problem. If the same behaviour still occurs, then probably your game is corrupted somehow. Robin Hood  (talk) 03:10, 4 December 2013 (GMT)
Thanks, I'll try your suggestion. I hope that helps solve the problem. Calm isn't much use if it harms the target. — Unsigned comment by 98.160.100.108 (talk) at 05:24 on 4 December 2013
