Why "SE?"

Why does all in-game cells and the like reference all expansion material as "SE," why not SI? YukiF 19:04, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, it's a bit puzzling... Maybe "Shivering Expansion"? --SerCenKing Talk 19:10, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
South east? --YukiF 21:07, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Because in the construction set, things marked "SI" is for ships and "SE" is used so modders or the developers don't get confused — Unsigned comment by Mylesjackson (talkcontribs) on 12 May 2010

No Door to SI

okay if for some reason the door is not there and you have waited 24 hours with no quest pop up. You came here and asked for help, but everyone gave you the same answer wait 24 hours or whatever. 90% of the time ven though the patches should be installed or come with the gotye it did not. Get the updates from xbox live its easy and like i said 90% fo the time that is the problem. — Unsigned comment by 68.146.75.1 (talk) at 04:08 on 11 April 2010

Concerning the Hill of Suicide... (Moved)

Moved after mess up with post--Arch-Mage MattTalk 02:26, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

(moved to Shivering talk:Ghosts of the Hill of Suicides#Concerning the Hill of Suicide...)

Yet another "No Door" problem.

Alright, I CANNOT pinpoint the exact reason to why SI will not work. I play Oblivion on the xbox360, and recently bought the Game of The Year Edition, after borrowing it from a friend, and realizing how awesome it is. The first thing I did, was download the expansion pack. After this was done, I went strait to niben bay, only to find no door. No, it is not there, and can't be seen from the stables outside of Bravil, on a sunny day. It's actually been 2 game time WEEKS, and yet, No Door, no quest. I've searched into my xbox's hardrive, and YES, Knights of the Nine, and Shivering Isles, are both there. I then tried to see if I couldn't go to SI, due to not having a patch. I'm am very unsure if I have the version 1.2.0214 patch or not, because I DID NOT get the extra xbox360 acheivements from it, for SI. Although, several other things the patch pixes, like attacking my horse, isn't reported as a crime. (I've often accidentally hit Shadowmere while we were in battle.) Along with, there are no sounds that play in the loading screen (other then the music, of course.) I am unsure as to if i have or don't have the other patches, and I for some reason can't get an internet connection to my xbox360, even with a wired connection, therefore, I can't download any patches. Any advice for what I should do? 69.14.74.224 20:01, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

You'll need to at least temporarily connect the console to the internet. Basically, when you purchase the DLC, it's licensed to the gamer profile and the console that you used. You can only access the DLC from the same gamer profile. If it's a different console, Microsoft has a tool available to transfer the licenses. That's the only thing I can think of that would cause what you're describing. Besides, you need to connect for the patches, both for the game and the console itself. --GKtalk2me 20:44, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll just bring my hardrive over to my friend that has connection to live, and download the patches. I'll see if it works. 69.14.74.224 20:54, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Can you play GOTY Shivering Isles w/o Disc 1 of the GOTY edition?

Hi.

I had an original copy of oblivion. Then I found out about the GOTY edition and how it comes with Shivering isles. Since I didnt want to pay 2400 MS points (30 dollars) for Shivering Isles, I bought a copy from my friend for $15. However, disc 1 is hopelessly scratched. (I did know this before I bought) And I can't play Shivering isles.(I figured I could) When I put in the white version of the disc (not the GOTY one), it says that the extra content failed to load. I guess this is to prevent free distribution.

Is there any way to play the installed version of Shivering Isles without using the GOTY edition disc?

Thanks

67.252.179.55 00:29, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

You don't need the disc 1" to play the GOTY, any oblivion copy should work.--Tdroid 08:31, 5 November 2010 (UTC) I have the same problem, gonna have to live without it :/

My Shivering Isles doesn´t work with new oblivion disc! (xbox)

After 5 years of playing, my old oblivion disc was to scratched to play with so I bought a new one. Everyting worked fine except that Shivering Isles and Knight of the nine doesn't work anymore. I noticed right away that something was wrong cause the "loading extra content" sign disapeard way to fast. When I loaded a game I found myself in Tiber Septim Hotel and all SI things was gone. Then I installed it again, but that didn't work. Then I started a new profile on the xbox and installed it there instead. That didn't work either. Does anyone know about this problem and if it's possible to fix this and how to fix it? — Unsigned comment by 213.134.106.125 (talk) on 11 May 2010

What you're describing sounds similar to the issues experienced with using previously downloaded DLC on a new console, but I've never heard of it happening when trying to use the DLC with a new game. Try the official Bethesda forums, or perhaps Xbox Live support since it may be part of Live's verification procedures. --GKtalk2me 01:51, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Xbox 360 Issues

Content doesn’t enable, or assets are missing
Some users are having issues with the Shivering Isles content enabling properly. Please note that Shivering Isles requires the latest Oblivion Title Update from Xbox Live, as mentioned above. If you are experiencing an issue with a hang on the “Loading Extra Content” message for 360 or the content isn’t enabling, it is likely because you do not have the 1.2.1 update. You can verify that you have the latest Title Update with the following steps:
       * At the Main Menu, press Start, and select Options
       * Select Video
       * Observe the bottom left corner of the Video Options screen, if it says Version 1.2.1, you have the latest Oblivion Title Update, otherwise you do not.
If you do not have the latest Title Update, you can get it 3 ways.
      1. You can either sign on to Xbox Live and download it before playing Shivering Isles.
      2. If you own Oblivion Game of the Year, insert disc 2 and select Yes when the disc asks to install the update. Disc 2 requires you to install the title update first before allowing you to install Shivering Isles or Knights of the Nine.
      3. If you own Shivering Isles standalone disc, insert the Shivering Isles disc and select Yes when the disc asks to install the update.
If you have the latest Title Update and you are still having issues, you might be having problems with Xbox Live… see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911198/en-us
If you have the latest Title Update and it still isn’t working, there are a few things you can try to fix the problem yourself:
You can verify whether or not the content has enabled by taking any character and Fast Traveling to the Bay Roan Stables just outside of Bravil, and swimming almost straight eastward across the Niben Bay… if the content has enabled properly, you should see an island with a large doorway somewhere near the center of the Bay (just above the ‘L’ in Bravil, on the world map).
You may have a dirty disc… you can try to clean it with the steps mentioned here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816785/en-us depending on the scope of your problem.
It may help to redownload the latest Oblivion Title Update from Xbox Live — if you are not receiving a prompt to download a Title Update when you start Oblivion and are logged on to Live, try the following:
       * At the Main Menu, press Start, and select Options
       * Select Video
       * Observe the bottom left corner of the Video Options pane, if it says Version 1.1, 1.2 or nothing at all, you do not have the latest update and may need to troubleshoot your Xbox Live connection
       * If it says Version 1.2.1, or you know your Live connection is working from the step above, you may want to clear existing game updates (please note the steps below will remove ALL game updates currently on your system, and that if you have downloaded any auto-updates for any other games, they will need to be downloaded again when you play them)
       * Go to the Xbox Dashboard, select the System blade, and select Memory
       * Highlight the Hard Drive symbol, and press the Y Button
       * Press the following buttons in order… X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X
       * A notification dialogue will ask for confirmation that you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 Storage Devices, select Yes
       * After the maintenance is completed, restart Oblivion while connected to Xbox Live and you should be prompted to download an automatic game update… accept this update
       * Verify at this point that the game should be working properly, if the update download succeeded
It may also help to redownload the Shivering Isles content from Xbox Live. You can do this by doing the following:
       * Go to your Xbox Dashboard, select the System blade, and select Memory
       * Select the Hard Drive, or wherever Shivering Isles is stored
       * Select Games
       * Select Oblivion
       * Select “Shivering Isles, Downloaded Content”
       * Select “Delete”
       * And finally redownload Shivering Isles as you did initially
You can also attempt to clear the Xbox’s game cache by holding the ‘A’ button as the game boots. Press and hold ‘A’ as soon as you turn the console on.

Did your Xbox live account expire recently? If it did and you didn't switch to Xbox live silver, the free one, you won't be able to use any DLC. I think it's in the dashboard network settings. PS it's a good idea to save Oblivion to your hard drive thisa will allow you to keep playing with a severely damaged disc. This is something IU learned after purchasing three copies. Why can't you fast travel in in this game??

It says you have to find the location, FOER EVERY LOCATION!!! Thats horrendous. — Unsigned comment by TheImperialBloodBrother (talkcontribs) at 18:49 on 13 May 2010

it's the same as oblivion you have to find every place except for the towns plus that's perfectly reasonable cause there's other games that don't even have fast travel--GUM!!! 18:53, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

No Elytra hatching at front of dunroot barrow!!!

In the quest "Adiction" when you arrive at dunroot barrow theres an elytra hatching in front of the door. however for my xbox there isnt. what should i do? if i have to re-download the shivering isles ( im playing on oblivion ) in order to have the hatchling appear? because i just dont want to lose duskfanf/dawnfang or my perfect madness armor or weapons.

If you read the article on that quest, it would tell you it doesn't always appear.--Corevette789 15:57, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Summon spells in the Shivering Isles

Discussion moved from Oblivion_talk:Oblivion#Summon spells in the Shivering Isles

In the isles you side with either the dark seducers or the golden saints and you gain the ability to summon whoever you sided with. do you eventually gain the other one? or are you stuck with the one summon choice?

also is there any storage available that will not respawn? or should i just take as little as possible with me before I enter? — Unsigned comment by Tbone11 (talkcontribs) at 00:34 on 25 May 2010

For the answer to your first question, see Ritual of Accession. You will get the opposite power after completing The Helpless Army.
As for non-respawning containers, there are only a few in SI. I normally use Hirrus Clutumnus' house, but you'll also have a number of them available in the Duke or Duchess' quarters once you take on that role. For a more detailed response, see this. Robin HoodTalk 15:38, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Ordered Eyes

Are there any examples of the Ordered Eye (a white eye set) that got into the game? There's a Nannete Don, Felas Serandes, and Jayred Ice-Veins who all have been "ordered", with white hair and white eyes. But they never made it to the game.--Arch-Mage MattTalk 01:19, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Looks like only some of the generic Order Priests use the graphic, which as you cannot see their eyes due the their helmet is not particularly visible in game. Jadrax 04:36, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

oblivion shivering isles

somone please tell does shivering isles have the same thing oblivion or is it just the quest — Unsigned comment by 75.168.127.243 (talk) on July 22 2010

Shivering Isles is much more than a quest; it offers basically a whole new world with a new faction, items, scenery, and much more. It's more of an expansion than a plug-in -- Jplatinum16 00:10, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Why oh why does shivering isles not work?

I don't have Xbox Live on my 360.I got Oblivion game of the year addition this year and I installed Shivering Isles and I went over to Niben Bay searched for hours and all I found was forts, then I reinstalled the expansion waited 24 hours real life before playing again then I went back to Niben Bay waited 24 hours game time and still no Shivering Isles, all I want to do is get shivering Isles and Knights of Nine without getting Live and I can't do an internet connection. And destroying Anvil and loading up my house is getting boring and if I cant get Shivering Isles or Knights of Nine then someones gonna have to tell me how to get tons of cash so I can get the house in skingrad and buy all of the upgrades. — Unsigned comment by 74.192.45.30 (talk) at 20:38 on 12 August 2010

The door to the shivering isles is not on land; it is in the middle of the bay, on an island. Have you searched the water? An internet connection is not required if you purchased the GOTY edition. TheEnigmaticMan You would speak with me?My handiwork
I searched the bay, nothing I have got the GOTY edition but the expansion isn't working. — Unsigned comment by 74.192.45.30 (talk) at 00:57 on 13 August 2010

Ya I have the same problem. I have the GOTY edition it says loading extra content but still no door after playing for two whole real weeks

lol the same fudging thing is happening to me --Rookie1345 13:36, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Hmmm, no solution? I play on a PC and have the GOTY edition, I have created and played 3 different characters to level 20-25. I was sure that I noticed that door at some point but I don't see it on the character I intended to play the SI expansion on. To be honest though after reading about Shivering Isles I sort of lost my enthusiasm to play it. I have played every version of Elder Scrolls since it first came out in the nineties so I guess I should trust that I will find it entertaining and keep trying to determine why the door is not there. I have a similar issue the other addon that came with the GOTY edition.

I had a problem kinda like this it happened when my Gold live expired all my content disappeared essentially, had to switch to a silver account (free) this shouldn't be the case with GOTY but might be worth checkin before you go nuts like I did.Datacaust 07:47, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Houses

I am about to download SI and i wnat to know if there are any houses that i can get i know you cant buy any though.

The only real "houses" you can get are the Ducal Quarters of either Mania or of Dementia, dependent upon which Duchy you decide to usurp. --Darkle ~ Talk 01:15, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
You can also use Hirrus Clutumnus' house once you've done his quest, and I seem to recall reading that there's one of the camps or village houses that has non-respawning containers. Robin Hoodtalk 01:43, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
This is an issue that I'm interested in as well, there isn't very much information on the SI pages about it. Hirrus' house is listed only in the FAQ and isnt really a good house cause it doesnt have a bed that you can sleep in. I've been using Breakneck camp lately but I'm not sure if it's a good place because heretics may spawn there. I wouldn't mind seeing a houses page added somewhere but don't know where or what would be included.Datacaust 07:38, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Feel free to give it a go, using OB:Houses as a base. Include info about the Mania/Dementia quarters and any good houses you find which are uninhabited, free to sleep in and with non-respawning containers. You might want to see if there are enough places that fit the criteria before you create the page however. --SerCenKing Talk 17:43, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm going to work on this a bit on my user. If anyone is interested in checking it out or helping in some way let me know. One thing I need help with is confirmation of safe storage as Im on 360. I went around checking out all the campsites using the 73+ hour thing and it looks like all campsites have some non-respawning containers in the shivering isles. also an ideas anyone has for free places id like to hear.Datacaust 18:36, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

hill of "suicides"?

Why is it called the hill of suicides when they don't really commit suicide, sheogorath kills them

When a resident of the Shivering Isles commits suicide, as a punishment, they are sent to the hill. You may be thinking of the Execution Point. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 19:11, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
No, I was thinking that too. When I first went to the hill of suicides, I saw spirits stood on it. Then later, I did a mission to retrieve skulls from a fort, which looked like some sort of place for rituals. Then I had to take the skulls to the hill of suicides. If they didn't commit suicide, why get sent to the hill?
To quote Erver Devani: "It's where you end up if you don't die according to His plan. They will drive you to it. Like They did poor Gadeneri. I loved her, and then she was gone. By her own hand. It's said any soul on the Hill can be released if their remains are brought to them. I've heard that those that free the souls become blessed. Can't say for sure. They scatter the remains all over the Isles. Bastards."
In other words, the locations of the remains aren't important - they have been put there afterwards. rpeh •TCE 20:50, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

The Shivering Isles' own page

Maybe I'm just being naggy, but I think The Shivering Isles should have its own page. And with that I mean, a page which describes the Isles as it is in the expansion Shivering Isles. Currently it seems better to link to the Lore:Shivering Isles, as it at least gives a short explanation of what it is. Oblivion has its 'Cyrodiil' page, so why not Shivering Isles not its 'The Shivering Isles'? ~ Dwarfmp 02:04, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Yeah... that's something I've thought before - usually when I find myself linking to Shivering:Shivering Isles when I'm talking about the place, even though I know it's not the right link. I suppose "The Shivering Isles" is the best name for it. rpeh •TCE 08:42, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
That, or "(The) Shivering Isles (place)" ~ Dwarfmp 14:33, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
I think this is a really good idea - for the longest time, I have avoided linking to the Shivering Isles, simply because there was really nothing to link to. However, it will be a huge amount of work, but it can be done. --Krusty 14:35, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Not Able To Talk To People On Shivering Isles? / Cupboards Deleting Things? (PS3, GotY Edition)

Recently, I completed the Shivering Isles part of the game, then decided to go and do the main quest. I did the Shivering Isles before I did anything else, and then when I completed it I had to do a quest that involved Vampire Disease. I got Vampire Disease and had to cure it, there was a problem with Bloodgrass that already has a solution listed on here. When I loaded it again, my character had lost everything he had that he got in the Shivering Isles that was equipped to him, but other items, such as The Staff Of Sheogorath were being stored elsewhere, and they did not vanish.

I tried to go to the Shivering Isles, and everything has reset. I tried to gather Madness Ore to get back my weapons and armour, but I can't talk to anyone, all I can talk to them about is 'Rumours,' and nothing else. Is there a solution to this?

Also, I stored many of my items I was not carrying at the time in a cupboard in The Cloud Ruler Temple. When I reloaded it and went to get my things, they were all gone! What has happened here? Is it a glitch? Or am I not meant to put things in cupboards?

This game is on PS3, and it is a Game Of The Year Edition. — Unsigned comment by Keeshatyke (talkcontribs) on 11 December 2010

I have never heard of this glitch before so something major must have gone wrong. As for your items vanishing you must have put them in an unsafe container. It is ill advised to store your items in containers that do not belong to you as the majority of them reset every few days. --Manic 23:45, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Containers!!!

Can there be a "Containers" link added to the "Gameplay Information" on this page I was having a hard time finding information about crystal chests or any other SI containers for that matter. Re-play Shivering Isles (Xbox360)?

I've already played through Shivering Isles (on Xbox 360), and would like to start it over, but I also don't want to have to start a new character. I tried deleting it from my Xbox, loading my most recent save, creating a new save without Shivering installed, re-installing Shivering, and loading the new save, but somehow all of my Shivering Isles progress is retained even though SI wasn't installed when that save was created. Any suggestions would be appreciated. — Unsigned comment by 68.102.76.133 (talk) on 28 March 2011

SI is different from normal mods - it fundamentally changes your game. The only way to reset would be to totally delete Oblivion from your Xbox, then reinstall that and load an earlier save. rpeh •TCE 22:16, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
When you say load an earlier save, do you mean a save from before I started playing SI? — Unsigned comment by 68.102.76.133 (talk) on 30 March 2011
Actually my post wasn't very clear. Delete the whole thing then reinstall just Oblivion. Load your most recent save, play it for a while if you like, then save it again. Now install SI and load that new save. Everything should be okay except all your SI stuff should have reset. This isn't a great idea though. Save files can get screwed up when you do things like this and cause problems later on. Just create a new character and start again. rpeh •TCE 07:51, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Sorry to keep on about this, but I went ahead and tried this (after backing up my saves on a flash drive). I deleted everything oblivion-related from my Xbox except 1 save file. I loaded the game, played 2 missions (misdirection and master block trainer), saved, downloaded Shivering Isles from Xbox marketplace, and reset the game. When i loaded the save, all of my SI items were back, the door in Niben bay was back, but all SI journal entries were gone, including the "current" (not yet completed) quest entries - this is the same result I've been getting all along. Also, I don't know if this is relevant, but I actually never completed the main SI quest. It's been a long time since I played though, which is why I want to start over. It's seeming more and more like this isn't possible, but I'd appreciate any other ideas you might have. Otherwise, I'll leave you alone. Thanks.

No idea then. Just start a new character. rpeh •TCE 08:42, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Oblivion: The Shivering Isles Questline RESETS!

This is very complicated so take a deep breath before reading! ;3

Okay, a long time ago, I did some quests in the Shivering Isles area with my character but I did not complete the storyline. I went out, I completed the normal Main Quest, even cured my character from Vampirism. Later, when I returned to the door to Shivering Isles, I see guards in front of the door with a I HAVE NO GREETING! response and a few other people OUTSIDE the Shivering Isles. And even worse: When I get back in The Shivering Isles I had to do the main quest from the beginning (again) but can not go further till the quest A Better Mousetrap because of the gates that won't open anymore. I think this only affects the main storyline of the Shivering Isles. I can complete (some) sidequests though.

I have found on the internet the problem (with no solution ofcourse) and it perfectly resembles my dilemma:

Known issues with the PS3 European Workaround and Ways to Work Around: In some cases with this workaround, if you have begun your adventures in the Shivering Isles, the expansion resets and you will have to start the Shivering Isles from the beginning again; all objects/ quests from the Shivering Isles will be removed from your character screen, and there are also cases with some of the quests when you return to Shivering Isles having minor bugs as a result. Ways around this include not entering Shviering Isles until you have finished the vampire cure quest or being prepared to start Shivering Isles from the beginning again.

PLEASE HELP SOMEONE! PLEASE! GOD! I HAVE A LVL 48 CHARACTER THAT CANNOT COMPLETE THE SHIVERING ISLES STORYLINE! ;'( - Remy

Well if you are playing on the computer you can use consol commands to complete the quest without even doing it, or possibly fix what is wrong. However if you are on a game system you will have to explain what is wrong in more detail for assistance or figure it out yourself. I might suggest uninstalling SI starting up Oblivion and saving it, then reinstalling SI. It might work.--Zar Pof 01:51, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
I'm having the same problem as all-CAPS Remy above. 360 GOTY edition (two disks). Starts getting buggy on the Roots of Madness quest. Spell video effects are frozen in place, and root doors are difficult to open, but eventually I can finish the quest. However, cannot complete the last quest--the two obilisks will not die! Put the three Order Hearts in, get the notice they are deactivated, but can only get one or neither of them visually "dead", so the end boss guy never appears. Bummer. Have tried reinstalling without success, though I did not open and save in Oblivion before reinstalling SI. I'll try that. Also cleared HD cashe. Any other ideas? Thanks, Gordon, 26 July 11

I'm having the same problem! I have PS3 GOTY Edition (1 disk, SI and KOTN editions already included, so no downloads needed) and I even didn't start SI quests yet, or KOTN, or start with the main quest. I finished aeges ago Vampirism quest somewhere around level 6-7, had the problem with the Blodgrass...that was my first bug...now I'm a level 46 and crusing around the Nibanay valley my character simply got the RANDOM FROZEN SPELL VIDEO EFFECTS, so first I tought that this was some kind of disease and when I checked my journual I actually did discover that I catch some swamp disease, cured it immediately hoping that this will solve my problem, but it didn't :(...ok...so I enter some fort and was unable to open simple dore which did not request the loading of that area...now I was starting to freaking out, I immediately quit the game and load the last save game before this started to happen, went to different location in Blackwood and it didn't take long for same effects to start all over again :(((...tried the same thing for the third time, but this time went to Anvil stables and after buying a horse this thing happened to the women who sold the horse to me...??? wtf... OK, there was a one thing I forgot to mention but it crossed my mind after reading this page with Q&A's...back when I was level 1/2/3...I got a message about a strange doors that appears in a Nibenay Valley, so I went there, but I didn't find just a doors, there were some 6-7 people all piling outside of the doors, 2 golden guards, some Kajit sneaking around, and bunch of other people (can't remember them all now), and I went inside the doors normally and find a guy sitting acroass the table in some sort of a room for reception, than we talked, but I was not willing to proceed to SI, so after we finished talking I went back to Nibenay Valley, same bunch of people was still there...at that time I thought that this was normal, but now I'm not so sure anymore, by the way in this 1 year playing this game I crossed SI dorrs couple of times and the bunch is still there...maybe this was my first bug, only I was not aware of it till today???....

Anyhow - DOES'S SOMEONE PLEEEASE HAVE AN ANSWER TO THIS BUGS?...If I fail now to continue from where I am at, I'll go crazy :((( I'm level 46 and have 12 master skills!!! :((((( HELP!!! TINA 22.10.2011.

can't download

when i went to buy this game the guy working there told me that i didn't need a hard drive. He told me that if i configured a large enough memory card to the x box that it would take the place of the hard drive. So i put the memory card in and configured it to the console, then when i put shivering isles in it told me that i needed a hard drive to play. Can i use a flash drive instead of a memory card? — Unsigned comment by Jacob111495 (talkcontribs)

you can put a new hd in the new 360's as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NhALsgzR0M shows how to take out your old one. just buy a bigger one and replace it.184.13.212.201 19:35, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Progress in shivering isles restarted itself

I have the GOTY edition of oblivion on the PS3 and I went into the game not really thinking about the DLCs separately, but just as one complete package with the original game. About 20 hours in I go into the strange door and play about 10 hours in the shivering isles. I then leave and get sucked back into the original world of oblivion. About 70 hours in I get another message saying that a strange door has opened. I go back to investigate and I go into the gate, and it is as if I had never been here before, as I am confronted by Hasskil (Think thats his name) and the gatekeeper is also back. I find this strange as it clearly says in my inventory that I have items such as the ring of happiness, which can only be obtained from the isles, and also the madness ores list.

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition will not download shivering isles or knights of the nine properly.

I bought the game of the year edition and installed the knights of the nine expansion and the shivering isles expansion. I updated my console using the disk so that i could install the expansion. I start the game and it says "loading extra content" or atleast it said something like that. I noticed that it went a little too fast but i had thought nothing of it. When i went on to my game i waited 24 hours and nothing happened. It is NOT possible for me to go on xbox live or anything like that because i have dial-up internet. i tried reinstalling it several times and i even tried reinstalling shivering isles by itself. I am a little conserned that there is no way for me to fix this problem without going online. i went on a support website that told me to check if my game was up to date by going to the options and checking video to look for what version i have at the bottom corner. All i had seen was the brightness bar but nothing said version 1.2.1 or anything like that. I do not understand this because the game of the year version gives you the update to install the expansions. Please help me someone. Please do not be vague with little details. Be very specific.

I had the same problem man, but i figured it out. What you need to do is connect yourself to some kind of internet source, if you've already downloaded them from the disk. As soon as you connect yourself to Xbox live, it will tell you that you have an update and that's the isles and the nine. After you do the update go to game still connected to Xbox live. Once there it will do the "loading extra content" for a longer time. After that go to your option and check on downloads. That's the only way to do it, I wish there was another way beside needing internet but that's the only way i know of.

I see the achievements , but the addon doesn't show
