Tamriel:Sheogorath should link to this page.

What would be the right race for Sheogorath? When I just write in Sheogorath in the NPC summary, it links to the quest in Oblivion...--Pyntix 12:13, 5 April 2007 (EDT)

I used the "racecat" field to make the category go to "Other Races". Not sure what to do about the Sheogorath Race page, since Sheogorath is of course the only member of it. Maybe somehow getting it to link to Lore:Daedra would work? Would require a change to the template, of course. Not sure what other suggestions are viable... (We'll have similar problems for the various Golden Saint and Dark Seducer NPCs.) --TheRealLurlock Talk 12:38, 5 April 2007 (EDT)
No need to change the template. Just provide a link in the race field and it works. --Nephele 14:15, 5 April 2007 (EDT)

Fighting Madness[edit]

Whilst I am aware that he has a ridiculous amount of health, is it possible to kill/ knock Sheogorath out? --Merco 14:35, 22 October 2007 (EDT)

I don't think so, because the moment you hit him, you are paralyzed and cn't move until he kills you. Maybe if you made a ridiculously powerful spell it might work, but you'd probably have to make a spell of your own (not though the spell altar) or have a RIDICULOUS amount of magica. --Ordon Crane 22:08, 6 December 2007 (EST)

Theoretically, striking him with Mehrune's Razor might work, because of the slight chance of it auto-killing whoever is slashed with it.
That's a thought - and one worth investigating. –RpehTCE 05:25, 10 January 2008 (EST)
I just spent several frustrating minutes failing to kill Sheogorath and then it occurred to me to look at the script. The first line ensures the razor never works against essential characters; the second that it doesn't work against entities in the Creature faction (a comment notes that this is to protect Mehrunes Dagon himself). So Sheogorath can never be killed using the razor. I'm going to add some text to the dagger's section to reflect this. –RpehTCE 05:48, 13 January 2008 (EST)

Actually, it is completely possible. Through the use of a frenzy spell. He stands, draws his fists and begins attacking you. (rather than just teleporting you to execution point.) Leave the palace and after a painfully long time, the guards manage to kill him. --M'aiq the Liar 00:34, 29 August 2008 (EDT)

how strong would the frenzy have to be? i can't use the consle cause i'm on the 360 and i want to see sheogorath get knocked out (plus sell the gaurds stuff and be rich!!!) — Unsigned comment by 142.68.107.143 (talk) on 2 March 2010
The Blessing of Mania should be enough. Otherwise, to be on the safe side, try 100 Frenzy. --SerCenKing Talk 18:53, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Cane[edit]

What is the FormID for Sheogorath's cane? I am on the 360 so I can't use AddItem or CoC. --124.181.248.118 18:45, 29 February 2008 (EST)

If you're on Xbox 360 then why do you care about the FormID? --NepheleTalk 19:22, 29 February 2008 (EST)
I don't know why he does but what is it?--Puddle 19:27, 29 February 2008 (EST)
I'm a little late to this party, but since I was in the right general area anyway, it's listed as SESheogorathCane (00094C2F). --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 20:55, 5 May 2008 (EDT)
Is it a staff or a miscellaneous item? Also what is the name as seen in game? Dagoth Ur, Mad God T C E 21:10, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
Neither—it's clothing. It has no in-game name, since you can never legitimately possess it without using the console. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 22:43, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
Does it occupy the "Hand" slot? Dagoth Ur, Mad God T C E 22:45, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
Strangely, it's the Right Ring slot. Why do you ask? (Other than to increase your edit count, of course.) --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 23:24, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
When you type additem 94c2f 1 in the console, will it say "Sheogorath's Cane added", "added", Or "SESheogorathCane added"? Does it have enchantments? Dagoth Ur, Mad God T C E 23:28, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
Try it yourself and you'll see, there is no name, only a large purple square. If you don't own SI, try player.additem c5b3c instead...it'll be the same effect. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 23:43, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
What uses the 000c5b3c Form Id? — Unsigned comment by Dagoth Ur, Mad God (talkcontribs)
Seriously, enough already!! Who cares??? How will this ever have any effect on your game, especially if you don't even have SI?? Stop wasting our time. --NepheleTalk 23:56, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
Actually, I lied...that won't give you a purple square, it'll just show you a glove icon and then "added"...but close enough. Anyway, I'm not participating in this conversation any more, as I suspect your only reason for asking is to bump up your edit count even further on useless edits which we're all quite tired of. Be happy that none of the administrators has reported you to the abuse department of your ISP. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 00:00, 16 May 2008 (EDT)
It looks like the actual added symbol varies. For some strange reason, it only has the symbol and no words just "~ added" but from what I've seen the ~ is whatever you just have used. After I equiped the fork of horriplation, a stunted magicka symbol appeared. After I used additem for a great welkynd stone, the symbol for that appeared. Also after I checked my inventory, it wasn't even there. --M'aiq the Liar Talk 22:31, 5 October 2008 (EDT)
Alright, I see there is a thread about Sheogorath's cane. Unlike my predecessor, I DO own PC and I want to know the cane's ID, because it looks badass. Can I get it? Oh, and no lamy answers please. If it's just impossible - I'd get it, just tell me straight. 95.49.70.32 13:05, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
The answer has already been given: player.additem 94c2f 1 will add a copy of the cane to your inventory but you can't actually use it. rpeh •TCE 15:55, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
I see. I thought it was a joke or something, now I'm realizing the cane isn't just marked as "playable". It's quiet easy to fix it, though. Using TES Construction Set is a solution. Thanks. 95.49.116.166 22:16, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
Actually, you CAN equip it through the console, after you add the item to your inventory, of course, player.equipitem 94c2f But sadly it doesn't look quite right, you can't see it in your hand, but rather protruding from your hand as if a ring. You can use the same method of equip to equip Haskill's suit, after you find the code.

Sheogorath's Spells[edit]

Is there any way to get any of Sheogoraths spells? Like the one which sends the person up to the sky and dies. --68.81.38.129 19:52, 5 May 2008 (EDT)

I'm still going through SI myself, so I'm not sure what spells he has, but you can get the spell you're talking about by typing player.addspell 55527 into the Console. It won't do you much good, however, as it's scripted to only work if the target is the player, and casting a targetted spell on yourself is something Oblivion doesn't allow. If you target anyone else, the spell shows the Paralyze animation, but there's no actual effect. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 20:49, 5 May 2008 (EDT)
If you can see other people in the room (Haskill) when Sheogorath uses the spell, you can see that it has a long hit range (Probably in case he misses). It also has been wondered what happens if you have 100% spell reflect, but seeing as it is a scripted teleport, it probably won't do anything.Dr. Kilereren 17:51, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
Yes, the spell has an insanely large range of 3000 feet, and as a scripted effect, nothing will reflect or resist it as far as I know. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 17:28, 26 June 2008 (EDT)

Quotes section ?[edit]

How about a quotes section on this page? I find his quotes most enjoyable, and would love to have a complete compilation.

I once dug a pit and filled it with clouds....or was it clowns.... come to think of it, it began to smell... must have been clowns. Clouds don't smell, they taste of butter. And tears.

— Unsigned comment by 88.89.192.203 (talk)

It's an interesting idea, but the biggest problem I see with it is that you could probably quote half the dialogue that he says. By the very nature of who he is, there's so much of his dialogue that's either funny or just plain weird. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 11:14, 24 May 2008 (EDT)
We could pick out the best lines, but then we'd probably end up with arguments over which lines deserve mentioning. I think the numerous statements about his insanity are really enough, but a compilation could go in user's sandbox (if any users are interested in this). --HMSVictoryTalk 11:20, 24 May 2008 (EDT)
Perhaps someone could make a page for SI on Wikiquote and then link it here? X3--216.99.55.12 12:30, 26 May 2008 (EDT)
One of the goals of the Oblivion NPC Redesign Project is to list unique dialogue. The ONPCRP includes SI so we'll get around to it at some point. –RpehTCE 16:20, 26 May 2008 (EDT)

Why not just list all his quotes? Its not like it will be too overwheling. Unless there is only one person doing it then just the quicker ones. — Unsigned comment by 121.217.56.178 (talk)

Because that's a large undertaking due to the sheer volume of things he says. He also says different things in slightly different circumstances. It'd take some digging through the TES:CS. GameSageZB 01:33, 18 July 2008 (EDT)

I must say though, it is something I want to see. It could be easily sectioned into quest related text, general text and "best picks". NIL 10:29, 22 July 2008 (EDT)

quick question[edit]

why, on the article, when you scroll to the bottom of the screen you get a box with links looking like this:

Races in Oblivion Playable: Altmer | Argonian | Bosmer | Breton | Dunmer | Imperial | Khajiit | Nord | Orc | Redguard Other: Ayleid | Dark Seducer | Dremora | Golden Saint | Sheogorath

why does Sheogorath appear in this table, as he isn't really a race?

P.S sorry for the rubbish table like think, i just copied it from the article as i'm no good at making tables, i hope someone can make the table for it for me?--Repeater 16:39, 16 April 2009 (EDT)

It is because Sheogorath has his own race type- he is the only member of the 'Sheogorath race' in the construction set. It is one of only 15 NPC races in the game. On any race related article, there is always a table giving references to the other races in the game (for example there is one on the Breton page), and technically this is a race related article (since it describes the 'Sheogorath race').--Willyhead/t 17:00, 16 April 2009 (EDT)

Thanks--Repeater 07:15, 17 April 2009 (EDT)

Camoran[edit]

On the page is says the player becomes the first mortal to rule a Daedric plane. This isn't true, as didn't Mankhar Camoran rule Gaiar Alata? Legoless 22:07, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

I suppose that's a fair enough point. I've deleted that line from the article. –rpehTCE 06:29, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Resistance/Reflection[edit]

Is it Possible Resist Sheogorath's Paralyze-teleport you 1000000000 feet above execution point spell? I have the Gray Aegis (via a Glitch), or Reflect it Via a Spell?--VergilSparda 22:48, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Nope, the whole process is scripted. As soon as you hit him or cast an offensive spell, all your active effects disappear. --MC S'drassa T2M 23:12, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, Silencing doesn't work either i tryed it--VergilSparda 00:36, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
The funny thing is that I also tried to silence him, and like you it didn't work. I also tried to absorb it but no luck, it must be a greater power or lesser power (those are immune to silence). --MC S'drassa T2M 01:22, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
Does he have any other spells that he doesn't use?--VergilSparda 13:37, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
Maybe, although that can only be checked with the CS since the moment you attack him, you get totally freezed. --MC S'drassa T2M 17:02, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
Since i am on Xbox I dont have access to the Contruction set, could you check for me as i would like to know just out of interest what the spells are if any.--VergilSparda 17:24, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, Thats a bit weird considering he is an almighty daedra lord--VergilSparda 23:51, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Well no, it's the other way around. He doesn't have spells precisely because he's an almighty daedra lord. He doesn't need them, he just wills stuff to happen and it does.Sordid 18:08, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

Sheagorath regalia[edit]

I heard that sheaogorath wears an unechanted version of the sheogorath regalia that costs 100 gold instead of the one that the player recieves that costs 5100, is that true? — Unsigned comment by Sayonara (talkcontribs) on 14 January 2010

Indeed yes, Sheogorath is wearing an unenchanted version of the same regalia you are given at the end of the Main Quest. And yes, it is worth only 100 gold. --SerCenKing Talk 20:12, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
But Its Impossible to get on a console such as the Xbox or Ps3, i think its only possible to acquire via the console commands.--VergilSparda 20:14, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
Ah thanks a lot guys,I always thought that he was wearing the enchanted version.Oh and I play oblivion for PC just for you to now. Thanks again!— Unsigned comment by Sayonara (talkcontribs) on 14 January 2010

Execution teleport crash[edit]

Regarding the note about verification being needed for some players experiencing a crash when Sheogorath teleports you above Execution Point, I happen to be one of those affected by this. Disabled all the mods and everything that could possibly interfere and still the game crashes the moment he casts his spell. Oh well, I guess I won't get executed, then. Anybody else have the same problem or know the solution? Sordid 18:08, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

After experiencing this myself, I was able to pin it down to Major Jim's UI v1.12. There is a similar report from someone else in the comments for the file on Tesnexus. I haven't narrowed down specifically what part of the UI causes the problem, but since there's no ESP file, simply disabling all mods would have had no effect on the problem. You'd have to completely uninstall the mod. If I narrow down the problem any further, I'll post back to this thread. Robin Hoodtalk 22:05, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Shouldn't we just get rid of the entire thing as it is caused by mods? There are zillions of bugs caused by mods. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 22:12, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
I considered that, but depending on what's causing it, there could be more than one major mod causing the problem (e.g., Darnified, DarkUI, etc.). I'll do more research, but if it turns out to affect several mods, it might be worth documenting. If it's only the one, then yes, it should probably be removed from the page, unless it's deemed widely used enough (~44k downloads at this point) to merit keeping it there despite being just the one. I'm flexible. Robin Hoodtalk 22:19, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

you are sheogorath[edit]

i find it funny that you can still do the sheogorath shrine quest after becoming sheogorath. has anyone done this? — Unsigned comment by 98.142.49.26 (talk) at 08:20 on 4 May 2010

Many people have done it. Haskill talks to you instead of Sheogorath, as noted on the Oblivion Sheogorath page, but other than that, there's not a lot of difference. Robin HoodTalk 12:14, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Execution Survive?[edit]

Is it possible to survive the fall you sustain when executed by Sheogorath without using console codes like 'tcl'? Using the boots of Springheel Jak perhaps? Kylogorath 17:20, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Nope, see here --SerCenKing Talk 17:49, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
By using "tcl" it is possible. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 18:09, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
Quite simply make a quest your active quest (besides sheogorath's). When the fall begins, use the console and type "movetoqt". This will move you to your quest target. Then, use "activateplayercontrols" in console to use controls. BAM.

Mehrunes Razor[edit]

Okay what if you struck Sheogorath with the razor and that particular strike was the daedric banishing? Golden Eagle 07:32, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure I understand the mechanics of it, but Sheogorath's scripting seems to override the Daedric Banishing effect, as I was never able to get Sheogorath to go unconscious. If it is possible and I was just supremely unlucky in my testing, I believe Sheogorath would simply go unconscious and then react as he would to any other attack once he woke up. Robin Hoodtalk 19:30, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
This can not happen because Mehrunes Razor does not work at essential NPC's. --Rigas Papadopoulos 11:41, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
You're right, Rigas. I'd missed that. Robin Hoodtalk 21:18, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

A way to survive the fall[edit]

I found a way to survive the fall. Go into Sheogorath's throne room, throw an on-target hostile spell on him and exit the room before the spell hits him. Make sure that the spell will hit Sheogorath. Re-enter the room and attack Sheogorath. The moment you hit him you will be instantly transported to the Execution Point without Sheogorath casting his spell on you. When you will be transported, you will be able to control your character while in mid-air. Just fast-travel while in mid-air to go anywhere you want. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 14:06, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

I forgot to tell. In order to fast-travel, you must first move a bit in the air before the fall animation starts. If you don't, you can't fast-travel because a message pops up and says that fast-travel is currently unavailable from this location. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 14:27, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

I just tried it again and it didn't work. Guess it was an one-off. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 12:16, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Height[edit]

How high does Sheogorath's teleport spellteleport you above execution point?--92.2.103.74 19:14, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

The "SEOopsMarker" point to which you are teleported is 30479.1895 units high. "Sheogorath's Punished" is at 8988.0752, so the drop is 21491.1143 units. How high that is in feet/meters is anybody's guess. rpeh •TCE 20:43, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Schedule?[edit]

How are players supposed to test his schedule for the ONPCRP, when he is always in a quest-related position? When entering the Isles, that Main Quest becomes active, so he will always be in the throne room of the palace, until later stages, correct? If any schedule is determined from the CS, it wouldn't be verifiable, would it? Well, in that case, this schedule would only need to specify his location at each stage of each quest, which should be easy enough since his location movements are already detailed. Just wondering - Neural Tempest 11:30, 10 May 2011 (UTC)

Calculating Drop Height[edit]

If I remember correctly, a story is ten feet. That makes Benirus manor twenty feet tall. Add roughly three to five feet for the roof, and it's twenty-three to twenty-five feet tall (You could, of course, measure the height of the roof above the rest of it from a know point to get an exact height). From there, you have three ways of calculating the height of the teleport point, all of which require that you play on the PC:

  • You can, in some way, get onto the roof and see how much damage a character with a certain acrobatics takes from waling off. Divide the damage by the height to get the damage per foot (Subtracting however many feet the character can fall without injury) Then set the health of the same character to extraordinarily high levels and get teleported. Since you now have a damage-per-foot, divide the amount taken by that number. (Assumes a linear progression. Is that accurate?)
  • You could set the timescales to a 1:1 ratio, and then time the drop from the top of the Manor. Divide the time taken by the height fallen to get seconds/minutes/etc.-per-foot, and then time the fall after being teleported. Divide the time taken by the time-per-foot.
  • Measure an object next to Benirus Manor, and then set them in the CS until you reach the point.

All of these should work.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 13:32, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
