What happened to her?[edit]

What happens to Nelrene at the end of "The Lady of Paranoia"? Is she disabled and removed from the game, sent somewhere else in the Isles, or does she retain her regular schedule? I haven't seen her at all since I did the quest, and nothing on this page specifically states what happens to her. If anyone can explain this to me, I'd be most thankful. 76.230.208.195 02:38, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

She's actually disabled the moment Syl executes Muurine. Never found a good spot on Nelrene's page to mention it - and managed to forget. Feel free to add the info if you can find a good spot. --Krusty 02:50, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
Interesting. But to be specific, does this occur if Syl is the one that kills Muurine, or if Muurine simply dies? If Muurine were to die by any other method (Console or otherwise) at that point, would that stop Nelrene from being disabled? I'm interested in finding a glitch I can use to prevent Nelrene from being removed from the game. I feel kinda sorry for her. Bauglir100 23:49, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
EDIT: Just tested it out. She is disabled as soon as the Quest is finished. Now, I'm currently trying whatever I can to find a glitch I can use to bypass "The Lady of Paranoia". Have there been any reports of bugs or glitches that can be exploited to prematurely start a Quest set after this one? Bauglir100 02:42, 25 February 2012 (UTC)

Strange behavior and disappearance, just before ending The Lady of Paranoia.[edit]

Just before I ended "The Lady of Paranoia", I attacked Nelrene, and found that not only can she not arrest me, but I don't get a bounty for attacking her.

After unleashing a barrage of Damage Attribute effects (mostly Strength, Willpower, Intelligence, and Personality), via Poisons and Staves, on Nelrene, and then destroying her weapon and armor with the respective Disintegration spells, reverse-pickpocketing zero-weight clothing into her inventory, pulverizing her with various weapons and spells, Paralyzing her a few times, knocking her unconscious while she was Paralyzed, and performing countless other cruel and sadistic actions upon her, she begins to flee when I attack her. Now here's the very strange part:

I cast the Sanguine Rose on her, which spawned a Flame Atronach to attack her. Instead of fighting it, she flees into Sheogorath's throne room, where I just so happened to have performed the Daedric Lava Whiskey glitch to fill the throne room with Dremora Markynaz, prior to the incidents. I decided to wait as soon as she disappeared through the door. The "Nelrene is unconscious" message appears on the screen, and I decide to wait a few more hours to see if she would return. When she didn't come back, I went the throne room, and found she wasn't there.

The Flame Atronach was fighting the Dremora Markynaz, which had already been attacking Sheogorath, but Nelrene was nowhere to be found. Not to mention, even after the Dremora were all killed, Nelrene never returned to the House of Dementia. I've waited several days in different locations, and searched every possible interior you could access without completing "he Lady of Paranoia", and even scoured New Sheoth to look for her, but she's nowhere to be found.

She couldn't have been killed, since she's Essential at all times. She does have a schedule, which she maintains until the moment she is disabled, at the completion of "The Lady of Paranoia". There's really no reason for her not to return to the House of Dementia, since I didn't finish the Quest, so what could have happened?

I know that NPCs flee the area if they are overwhelmed, and some might not returned, but I think Nelrene took this a little too far. Could the action in the throne room have prematurely disabled her? Could she be stuck somewhere in the Shivering Isles (I had cast a staff with a Damage Strength effect on her several times, so she could have been rendered immobile, and could be standing somewhere in the game, unable to move), or did I just traumatize her so thoroughly, that she would completely abandon her AI package, and go to some other location in the game to hide forever? For all I know, she could be running around the Isles, or even in Cyrodiil, being chased by random enemies.

What do you think could have caused this disappearance? Bauglir100 03:52, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

EDIT: I've tested this a few times. I think all of the fighting in the throne room might have disabled her prematurely. This is strange, anyway. This doesn't happen to any other Essential NPC in the House of Dementia. Maybe it's a coincidence, though. Bauglir100 12:13, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
I don't remember, are you on the PC or on a gaming console? If you're on a PC, open the console and type player.moveto 00013BD4. That'll take you to her, wherever she is. If it takes you to somewhere but there's no body, she's been killed (which, as you note, should be impossible). I don't remember what happens if she's been disabled...I think it's the same thing, but it might just give you an error and refuse to move you at all. Robin Hoodtalk 02:46, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
I'm playing the Xbox 360 version. I can't imagine why this glitch would prematurely disable Nelrene like that, when as far I know, no other NPC seems to suffer from this glitch. Bauglir100 00:43, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, if you're on a 360, it's that much harder to figure out what's going on. I don't really know what to suggest at this point. Robin Hoodtalk 07:34, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
