Id codes[edit]

Can you make Jyggalg spawn with the id coded like you can with Merhunes Dagon? - Jyggalag The Great Library of Jyggalag 13:31, 12 February 2008 (EST)

It should certainly be possible, atleast in the Shivering Isles. — Unsigned comment by 69.179.231.72 (talk)
It is possible either inside the Shivering Isles or in Tamriel. use player.placeatme code where code is one of the IDs listen in the article, for instance, 000825BF for the weakest version of Jyggalag. –RpehTCE 09:44, 23 February 2008 (EST)

Yeah i understand that in theory but i can't seem to be able to spawn him. (or Umaril. Sorry about this having no resemblance to Jyggalag) Why is that and whoever answers my question (and plz do) plz tell me how i can spawn him for future console use (mainly in evil ways) ~~ From the nerd with no name 91.155.240.10 18:37, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

What message do you get when entering the above command? --Timenn-<talk> 09:35, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
a little late, but you need to enter the mod refernece number along with the normal character base code. it depend on what number your mod is on the list of boot up times.

Weak As Usual[edit]

Was a bit of a dissapointment when I faced him.. being a Draedic Prince and all he didn't really withstand much >_< Took me 3 hits and he was down. ~ Exoclyps 21:01, 27 April 2008 (EDT)

What difficulty set are you on? When I faced him, even with the storm ring (immune to shock), it took me 4 tries. (I am a little more than 3/4 difficulty) if you want it to be harder set it to be harder. -Herkron

I know there is already a 'discussion' about this but jyggalag was like...easy. I was dissapointed too. I had the difficulty bar set to almost the highest, it was like 5/6 the way up. I just popped him a whole bunch as he 'spawned' and was easy as that... :( Enter Name Here 13:17, 16 March 2009 (EDT)

Use Wabbajack on him he either turns into a rat or a weak animal or his stats change to a rat or a weak animal, and unlike Dagon he doesnt turn into a pool of Mud :) --VergilSparda 19:25, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Well, you could do what I did...enchant an amulet with Silence, two rings with damage Fatigue 5 pts(Grand Soul Gem), difficulty slider all the way to the right, and no weapons(other than your fists), armor or potions. He should be a little harder for you now.Lord Sheogorath 21:41, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

Why would you need an amulet of silence on yourself? Just don't press the 'cast spell' button if you don't want to use spells.

What this means for future TES games[edit]

So if I followed the dialogue surrounding the end of the main quest correctly, Sheogorath is "gone" and Jyggalag is "free to roam the plains of Oblivion once again". Does this mean that Sheogorath will most likely not be in future TES games? Will we be able to do quests for Jyggalag now? Or is Jyggalag removed from power as well? Am I correct in assuming that Sheogorath is gone...forever? SteviL 12:53, 14 November 2008 (EST)

not if the deadric lords recurse him than Sheogorath may be back but it seem logical that Jyggalag will be more carefull this time arund so it seem unlikely plus from a out off game standpoint i dont thing the designers will do more with Jyggalag/Sheogorath apart from a deadric shrine quest (it could be froim ither) Diobern 20:43, 16 November 2008 (EST)

Remember that there is a "replacement" Sheogorath in place. Technically, both Sheogorath and Jyggalag exist as separate entities at the present point in the story. We don't know whether or not the SI player character will ever (lore-wise, obviously it never happens in game) properly assume Sheogorath's divinity and act as Sheogorath for eternity. The SI ending was unclear, but it certainly left that as a possibility. I personally suspect that the designers will simply use both Sheogorath and Jyggalag separately in future games for the purposes of shrine quests and so forth. The question of the divinity of the "replacement" Sheogorath only needs to be answered if the game is set far in the future from TESIV. Kandarin 14:48, 7 March 2009 (EST)

souls[edit]

does Jyggalag count as an NPC or a Creature? if creature, it doesn't make since as how in the heck could you trap a daedric lords soul in a soul gem? do they even HAVE souls? — Unsigned comment by 98.142.49.26 (talk) on 4 May 2010

It's a creature, and yes its soul can be trapped. You're right that it doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's just the way it is. rpeh •TCE 12:06, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
To this day I still have his soul laying on sheograths thrown. Though it was a little ironic. Mikeyboy52 17:45, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
as a point of interest it does in fact mention within the various texts of the game itself, "The Daedra and gods to whom the common people turn are no more than the spirits of superior men and women whose power and passion granted them great influence in the afterworld."
In short Jyggalag used to be a human and his soul was malevolent or powerful enough to survive relatively intact after death and he went onto lord over a realm of oblivion. It makes perfect sense that without a permentant corporeal body his soul could be trapped. Mortals souls are much more powerful than creatures because they are trapped in essensce, in one place, hence they are always grand and require special soul gems, whereas the souls in obivion are wandering over multiple worlds of the daedra princes, of which there is some suggestion are mroe akin to moons in space as hinted at by the imperial orrery, that last point is educated conjecture admittedl but the rest is cannon. — Unsigned comment by 90.220.84.111 (talk) at 21:08 on 11 June 2011
It's debatable what you categorise as "human". Daedra are et'Ada spirits, created by Anu and Padomay, who didn't take part in the creation of Mundus. I think you got your idea of them being the spirits of dead mortals from the traditional Aldmer ancestor worship. Soultrapping Jygallag still doesn't make any sense from a lore perspective, especially since you speak with him after the fight. It's just a game mechanic. --Legoless 21:00, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Maybe irrelevant but...[edit]

From what i understand the daedric princes cursed Jyggalag because he was so powerful, yet he is a pretty easy kill compared to mehrunes dagon, who requires a fancy dragon to be taken down, what am i missing here? KrazorM 22:12, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Just gameplay mechanics. Jayden Matthews 13:25, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
I may have a plausible explanation: The Champion of Cyrodiil went mad, believes he/she is Sheogorath, and the whole SI questline isn't real. I sure hope that's the case, cause I don't want Sheogorath to actually be gone. ~ Dwarfmp 13:56, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
In theory, the Champion of Cyrodiil wouldn't have been able to defeat jyggalag without the staff of Sheogorath, at least, that's what I gathered from Sheogorath's ramblings (a me to fight the him, because I won't be around). The whole quest line is, after all, your quest to gain the power of a Daedric prince. the developers didn't have to worry about actually giving you the power to defeat Jyggalag, because you aren't supposed to encounter him until the end of the quest line anyway. 206.109.97.89 22:18, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
I think SI was just a trick Sheogorath, did to make the The Champion of Cyrodiil insane by thinking he was a god, this can be sort of proven if you think of peryite, who if you think about it is the dadric prince of order...~ john142
