Are amber weapons or madness weapons better? Or are they the same? --Oblivion nerd 16:39, 26 November 2008 (EST)

There's actually a reason why we spend all the time and effort creating tables such as this for Amber and this for Madness weapons: so that readers can check for themselves exactly how the weapons compare. Furthermore, comparisons such as whether a mace or an axe is a better weapon are subjective and therefore there is no single answer as to which is better. --NepheleTalk 19:08, 26 November 2008 (EST)

Amber Sword short[edit]

Are the numbers for speed and reach of the Amber Sword really correct? While it is named "Sword", its Madness counterpart is named "Long Sword", and the model of it has the usual long sword length, but the Amber Sword looks much shorter, like a short sword. If the numbers are correct, it would at least not look correct when hitting an enemy from max distance. --217.85.167.79 00:54, 23 October 2009 (UTC) Amendment: The Madness one is probably names "Long Sword" because there's another sword - the claymore, while in the Amber set there's no other sword, so no differentiation necessary. --217.85.211.88 12:02, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

I recently tried to make an enchanted Amber Sword, but it wouldn't appear in the list of what weapon you'd like Dumag (the smith) to make for you. So I cheated some more amber, trying to get it in the list and it seemed like the only thing that would work. So I had 3 amber pieces before cheating, and the sword didn't appear. After I cheated another 3 pieces of Amber it did appear, after selecting the sword it still costed 3 pieces of Amber. Anyone else with this problem? So it might be put on the page? 213.10.146.31 18:59, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Confirmed. I've added a bug note about this. rpeh •TCE 23:11, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Arrows?[edit]

Should there be a pic of the arrows on the page? Qwertyone 05:33, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

If you think so, add a cleanup tag to the page. Most of the Shivering Isles weapon images need a bit of work, so it will get done eventually. Legoless 00:13, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
i would do it myself, but i don't have the xbox version and cant effectively take screens shots Qwertyone 22:17, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Maul[edit]

I was tinkering around on the construction set, something to which I am new, and stumbled upon an amber weapon called an Amber Maul. It uses the same model as an amber hammer, but with better stats and is one-handed. Could somebody please help verify this discovery? The item code would be much appreciated, for I do not yet know how to extract this information. Thank you. — Unsigned comment by 184.13.44.225 (talk) at 19:52 on May 20, 2011

The Amber Maul is designated as testAmberHammer1handed, so I assume that it was originally used for testing purposes and later removed from game. The item code is labeled in the CS as Form ID, and it is 4E038. --DKong27 Talk Cont 17:08, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Ah, yes, thank you.— Unsigned comment by 184.13.44.225 (talk) at 18:36 on 22 May 2011 (UTC)

Normal Amber Arrows More Expensive[edit]

I'm not sure if this is mentioned elsewhere, and if so, my apologies. But something I noticed in-game, and then went to verify here... and indeed, it's true. The normal Amber Arrows are more expensive than Fine and every other tier of arrows. Now, I'm not complaining, as I'm selling them in-game, but I was wondering if it was worth noting somewhere on the page? Or if there was some reason for this I wasn't aware of? I'd like to point out this isn't the case for any other Amber Weapons, nor for the Madness Arrows. — Unsigned comment by ExarArcian (talkcontribs) at 21:33 on 28 October 2011

Good point. Although the enchanted Madness Arrows seem to share the problem -- just the unenchanted normal Madness Arrows seem "correct". Given that the unenchanted versions of the normal Amber weapons normally have a price somewhere between standard Dwarven and Elven weapons, 6 gold seems like a more appropriate value for the arrows. I'll add it to the page as a bug. --NepheleTalk 04:45, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Charge[edit]

There is a notable lack of detail on the number of times an enchanted Amber weapon can be used before it needs to be recharged, or how much it would take to recharge one. This information is very important for comparison with Sigil Stones and Soul Gems.
