Imbue Weapon applied to a destruction staff.
Imbue Weapon: Infuse your weapon with power, causing your next Light Attack used within 2 seconds to deal an additional [5533 / 5594 / 5654 / 5715] Physical Damage. If the power is not consumed in time, you restore 1620 Stamina.
Elemental Weapon: Cost: 2700 Magicka.
Infuse your weapon with power, causing your next Light Attack used within 2 seconds to deal an additional [5716 / 5779 / 5842 / 5904] Magic Damage and apply the Burning, Concussion, or Chill elemental status effect. If the power is not consumed in time, you restore 1620 Magicka.
Crushing Weapon: Infuse your weapon with power, causing your next Light Attack used within 2 seconds to deal an additional [5716 / 5779 / 5842 / 5904] Physical Damage and applying Major Breach to the target, reducing their Physical and Spell Resistance by 5948 for 5 seconds. If the power is not consumed in time, you restore 1620 Stamina.

Imbue Weapon causes your next Light Attack to deal additional damage. Normally this is Physical Damage and will only work on melee weapons or bows, but the Elemental Weapon morph will change it to work with staves instead (changing the cost to use Magicka) and deal Magic Damage, in addition to applying random status effects. (These effects are normally associated with Destruction Staves, but will also work with any staff, and are not tied to the type of staff used.) Alternatively, the Crushing Weapon morph will reduce the resistances of the target.

Notes[edit]

  • All three versions of this spell will only work on a single attack, which must occur with 2 seconds of casting, so you'll want to alternate casting with light attacks to maximize the effectiveness. It has no effect on Heavy Attacks or other attack skills.

Patch Notes[edit]

  • Fixed an issue where this ability and its morphs were removing you from sneak when cast.
  • Fixed an issue where this ability and its morphs were not playing their visual effects or audio if you were unarmed.
  • Crushing Weapon (morph): Fixed an issue where this would heal based on the damage done from the Light Attack, and not the damage done by Crushing Weapon itself.
  • Decreased the cost of this ability and the Crushing Weapon morph by 5%.
  • Elemental Weapon (morph): Increased the cost of this morph by 10%.
  • The resource return from failing to consume this ability will now only return a portion of the resources, rather than all of them. This was done to fix an issue where you could get more resources back than you had originally casted it with, when used in tandem with sources of cost reduction.
  • Elemental Weapon (morph): Fixed an issue where there wasn't an equal chance to apply each status effect.
  • Crushing Weapon (morph): This morph’s heal now ranks up by 1% value of the damage done per rank, rather than 1.1% healing done per rank.
  • Crushing Weapon (morph): This morph now applies Major Breach to the target hit for 6 seconds, rather than healing for 25% of the damage caused, to help ensure the thing being crushed wasn’t your dreams.
  • This ability and its morphs now all cost 2700, rather than 2715 for their Stamina versions and 3122 for its Magicka morph.
    • Developer Comment: These abilities originally met these values on their launch, but due to the overwhelming amount of use they saw at the time, they were increased to reach the same relative cost of other spammables. Now that many spammables in the game have received some tweaks since then to further incentivize their use, we're comfortable moving these back to a cheaper cost for those players who want a lower cost spammable at the expense of class or weapon skill line synergy.
  • This ability and its morphs now removes stealth and invisibility after casting.
