Chaosball, also known as Murderball in game files, is a Battlegrounds game mode falling under Flag Games. Its objective is to secure the Chaosball itself and earn 500 points for one's team by carrying it. While being carried, the Chaosball will deal increasing amounts of Oblivion Damage to its carrier.

The Chaosball will spawn in the center of—or somewhere close to the center of—the map a few seconds after the game starts. It will hover above the head of the player who picked it up, creating an AoE ground effect dealing Oblivion Damage only to its carrier's team members. It will deal damage to its carrier every second, while it will earn 4 points for the carrier's team for every 'tick' that elapses while the ball is being carried. If and once the carrier dies, the ball will fall from the carrier and all players will have the opportunity to interact with it to become the new carrier.

As with all other Battlegrounds, Chaosball features a number of Battleground-specific medals.

Sixty Second Carry This is earned for carrying the Chaosball for 60 seconds.
Ninety Second Carry 900 This is earned for carrying the Chaosball for 90 seconds.
First Carry This is earned for being the first to carry the Chaosball for one tick.
Chaos Shaman This is earned for healing the Chaosball's carriers for (?) health.
Chaos Mender This is earned for healing the Chaosball's carriers for (?) health.
Chaos Healer This is earned for healing the Chaosball's carriers for (?) health.
Chaos Guardian This is earned for healing the Chaosball's carriers for 375,000 health.
Chaos Bruiser This is earned for damaging the Chaosball's carriers for (?) health.
Chaos Devastator This is earned for damaging the Chaosball's carriers for (?) health.
Chaos Destroyer This is earned for damaging the Chaosball's carriers for (?) health.
Chaos Hunter This is earned for dealing the killing blow to a Chaosball carrier.
Ball Buster This is earned for damaging the Chaosball's carriers for (?) health.
Assist This is earned for dealing at least half of a killed player's maximum health.

Notes[edit]

  • As a flag games Battleground, Chaosball games have the potential to net Stormlord style pages.
  • A popular stratagem among players it to take the Chaosball to one's own team's base and keep the Chaosball within its radius, as this stratagem allows the ball to easily be claimed by one's teammates upon one's death. Other stratagems, such as running around the map, are usually disdained due to the potential that they have to bring the Chaosball to opposing teams.

Bugs[edit]

  • Interacting with the Chaosball after one's demise may cause the Chaosball to spawn with the deceased player upon respawning, allowing exploitation by keeping the Chaosball in the carrier's base. ?
