Zones[edit]

Thanks for fixing the number of zones, AlbinoMudcrab. I remember at some point discussing the zones with Lurlock and checking them in game, which led to the surplus maps being removed, but we obviously forgot to fix the number of zones ;) For anyone who is wondering, the count of four zones comes from the construction set, where there are are indeed four cells (by CS ID and name): RockmilkCave (aka Rockmilk Cave), RockmilkCave02 (aka Rockmilk Haven), RockmilkCave03 (aka Rockmilk Haven), and RockmilkCave04 (aka Rockmilk - Blackbow Camp). RockmilkCave02 does not appear to be accessible in game. RockmilkCave04 does exist, but it's just the tent where Pumpkin hangs out (inside of RockmilkCave03), so it's too insignificant to warrant being counted as its own zone. So that leaves the two zones that count: RockmilkCave and RockmilkCave03, whose maps are shown in the article. --Nephele 02:29, 24 February 2007 (EST)

I actually debated over this for a minute, in-game there's a sizable cliff that's inaccessible above the camp, there also looks like a movable rock in the last tunnel like part leading down to the camp in Rockmilk Haven. I went back twice to triple check and confirm only two areas could be reached, plus the map gives no indication of a doorway or anything (you get an eye for them after a 1,000 zones or so). My guess is the "seemingly" movable rock would have continued on to the opposite cliff and out another door to the last zone RockmilkCave02, too bad as well because it's a fun place to go and watch all these ruthless battles. Anyways, no problem, thank you for catching my mud on Fort Nomore the other day, I knew the note was misleading but couldn't remember how so well enough to warrant a change without checking first, which I did anyways. That's what we're all here for, luckily getting an error, accidental or not, past Recent Changes is like throwing peanut butter on an anthill and... I can't remember but it was a good analogy. --AlbinoMudcrab 20:02, 24 February 2007 (EST)

Any related quest regarding this dungeon?[edit]

I'm just wondering if I already did it or not.--ShakenMike 04:16, 24 February 2007 (EST)

Yes, there is a quest, as it says on the page. 60.227.201.161 19:07, 24 February 2007 (EST)

The above was me (forgot to sign in) Th232 19:08, 24 February 2007 (EST)

Well, this is misleading then and probably warrants a change. There is a "freeform" quest for this cave, not an actual in-journal quest that has different layers and a specific reward (other than getting some payment and a great "show"). I'm going to change the Related Quests from Knights of the White Stallion to Black Bow Bandits.
I also propose that the Quest Giver for Black Bow Bandits be changed from Mazoga the Orc to "Freeform, does not appear in your journal" or similar since a casual reader might continually keep talking to Mazoga in thinking the Quest entry for "Black Bow Bandits" needs to appear. Although speaking with Mazoga semi-triggers the quest, in that she will walk off to predetermined site and you can follow, this step is in the Quick Walkthrough and the Regular Walkthrough so the change would be more for clarity than anything else? --AlbinoMudcrab 20:02, 24 February 2007 (EST)

I already did the quest as well.--ShakenMike 20:09, 24 February 2007 (EST)

Walkthrough[edit]

This dungeon really needs no walkthrough. It's so straightforward both in terms of layout and occupants. The Notes section is more than enough. --Sundar 18:49, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

Still, even some of the tiniest locations have gotten walkthroughs already, and we should be as consistent as possible ;). If the Notes are really that good (I only just glanced at it), they should be incorporated into the appropriate sections. --Eshetalk18:55, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
Actually I can't even come up with anything worth adding. Whatever is added will be a rephrased version of the Notes, I'm pretty sure. --Sundar 21:14, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
If Boreal Stone Cave has a walkthrough (however small) this one can have one too. If the Notes are already a walkthrough, move the notes into the right place and delete 'em. --RpehTCE 01:38, 10 October 2007 (EDT)

The boss' tent[edit]

Is it just me, or are the items in the tent,(including Pumpkin), scaled down in size?

You'll often find items that are smaller/bigger than their normal size and if you're on a PC you can make items smaller with the setscale console command -- Nacht 09:23, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Help![edit]

Umm yeah I've killed every Blck Bow dude but the king won't do anything. I think it was because for some strange glitchy reason the orc was killed before she could she me any places so I just found them myslef and took care of the problem. Now I have killed almost everyone except the boss dude cause I don't know where he is but now is there nothing I can do?

You need to kill Black Brugo. But you may even need to reload from an earlier save - before Mazoga got killed. –RpehTCE 16:31, 2 February 2008 (EST)

Accurate[edit]

Just restating what those above me said-I've aquired over 250 black bows and I think everything is accurate and detailed enough to be finished

Wierd Mazoga Glitch[edit]

Ok, so I was wandering around in Rockmilk when I saw an orc marauder in full dwarven standing over a dead black bow bandit. I proceeded to stealth kill the orc with my bow. Feeling proud of myself, I stepped from the shadows to loot the body. Then I realized I had killed Mazoga. After a few minutes of lamenting my foolishness, I grabbed all her armor, intending to sell it and be rid of the evidence. Funny thing is, as I exited the cave, I came upon something that stopped me dead in my tracks. There, not fifteen feet from the exit door, was a floating set of dwarven greaves. I couldn't interact with them or anything. Wierd. And creepy. So now, whenever I go to Rockmilk, I'm reminded of my accidental murder of Mazoga. Has this happened to anyone else? --67.49.29.218 23:18, 11 January 2009 (EST)

I don't think it's anything to do with Mazoga. If you drop a lot of weapons/armour outside the cave (to go back for more!) some of it will float in mid-air. Another annoying thing that can happen (although it might also happen elsewhere, I haven't tried it) is if you drop too much at one time there's a sort of 'explosion' as everything tries to fit in the same space at the same time & things fly a long way through the air (some even landed in the water the other side of the main road).62.49.72.185 12:40, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Respawning NPCs[edit]

How do the NPCs respawn? I've waited for 3 days outside the caves, and inside them. Do I have to sleep for 3 days or something?

See Oblivion:Dungeons#Occupants and Oblivion:Dungeons#Loot. You have to not enter the caves at all during the 3 days. --NepheleTalk 18:18, 5 June 2009 (EDT)

Bandit Lair[edit]

Hey guys, am I the only one who sees the zone "Rockmilk - Bandit Lair"? Why isn't it in the article? I have screenshots, but I don't know how to add them here yet. -Hyzakyt 00:48, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

No, you're not the only one. However, this was added by the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, which makes it a little more dubious. We normally only document bugs that were fixed by the UOP - the question is whether this constitutes a bug or new content. I can see both arguments in terms of adding it to the page, so I'll be curious to see what others think.
Also, it's normally preferred if you create a new section for your topic rather than to reply to something very old—even if it's closely-related—unless it's a direct response to an unanswered question. That's why I've moved your question to a new section. Robin Hoodtalk 05:47, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for the tips Robin Hood. Clearly I'm a n00b. I don't know if I'll have much to contribute to this wiki as you guys have covered everything brilliantly, but I'm glad you guys are available to help. -Hyzakyt 22:39, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
You don't know how long I've been thinking that there's really not much left to add, but somehow, there's always something more, it seems. Robin Hoodtalk 02:32, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

dead mazoga[edit]

i was going around in rockmilk cave and in like the first room i saw mazoga the orc lying dead on the floor with five guys standing around her i couldnt do anything so i killed one of them, and tnen they all went in a straight line and started running towards me after i killed them mazoga was in full ebony (exept from the helmet)

Can't sleep on bedroll[edit]

I just noticed something: I could sleep on the bedroll in the first room as long as something in the cave is alive except me. As soon as I kill the last person, I can no longer sleep on this bedroll (the crosshair does not change when pointing on it). I can sleep on the other bedrolls in the cave, though. --Romulus 09:44, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Rockmilk Cave - Bandit's Lair[edit]

So did anyone ever decide if the content Hyzakyt had for the content added by UOP should be added ? The note for Rockmilk Cave says RockmilkCave02 was not accessible but that it is now fixed, so ? Or we could leave it as a surprise, which it certainly was for me when I went through the door and started getting beat on. — Unsigned comment by 108.20.155.145 (talk) at 22:35 on 29 February 2012

Since nobody's replied to this, I'll make an executive decision and say go ahead and add it. Just make sure that it's noted right at the top of the section that it's only accessible if you have the UOP installed. Robin Hoodtalk 03:34, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Good Armor[edit]

I was told that in Rockmilk Cave, the people would have good armor and weapons like glass, deadric, and so on but whenever I go there, all that they have is dwarven and mithril armor. I don't know why but in other places a lot of people have dwarven stuff and nothing else and im pretty tired of that armor. Why is that?

It depends on your level, if you are lvl 10-15 they will only have medium armour. If you come back at higher lvls, say 20-30 they should all have much better amour. Pretty much all enemies work like this so it should work in any cave, not just this one. RIM 22:17, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
