Disappearance?[edit]

moved here from the article

  • If you Enter then exit Wellspring Cave Before she has spoken to you then there is a possiblity that she will dissapear when you do go to fight her. (PC)

We need a bit more information/explanation before this potential bug should be on the article. For example, did you mean Wellspring Cave or Wellspring Grove? Does it happen every time or is it a rare occurrence? --Krusty 12:19, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Noveni and Aldos Othran[edit]

I believe that Noveni and Aldos have something in common and that is the way they fight let's just remember when Aldos attacked the guard standing in front of his house he didn't stop until he died and when Noveni and the necromancers attack you the necromancers will flee when they are almost dead but Noveni will die fighting (well at least this happened to me). So it's right what Aldos is saying "I will show you what Othrans can do when their backs are on the wall"

New Bug?[edit]

Apologies, this is a bit lengthy.

So I've been testing things with the game (no mods or anything, this is the 360 version with only the official patch) and I arrived in the big open area where she and the other two necromancers are. I killed her buds but never actually engaged in conversation with her (avoided getting too close for contact). I picked up the staff and fast traveled to the Arcane University, but I decided to wait there to make Raminus appear (which, after further testing of this bug, yields no new options). Well, I'm suddenly interrupted and see that none other than Noveni has appeared INSIDE of the Arcane university to challenge me. A nearby Mage has come to my aide and after Noveni met her end I still received the quest update that all three of the necromancers were killed.

Curious, I loaded a save I made after obtaining the staff and having just her still needing to confront me...so I fast-traveled then to Leyawiin Castle and went into the main hall, waited 8 hours in front of two guards and got nothing. I then tried 10 hours and immediately it skipped to 1 hour, there she was again. Now wondering if it was bound by some sort of 10 hour time frame, I loaded the save again and fast traveled to the Arcane University once more. I waited for two hours, nothing as I expected...then another two hours, so my first initial thought was it was two waiting periods that somehow made this work (I tried two 5 hour waits and that made her appear earlier, though I did this in the Imperial City Arena district) went out the window and I waited another two hours, nothing. A fourth wait however yielded her arrival, which is surprising considering a normal 8 hour wait doesn't make her appear...killing her then and there, afterwards talking to Raminus who was in the room progressed the quest.

I also tested this with beds, fast-traveling to Chorrol and using a bed within the Fighter's Guild. I slept for two five hour moments, then a 10 hour, then a 24 hour...yet she did not appear. I then waited for a 4 hour, 9 hour and 14 hour time frame. Still no Noveni. Curious if it was the location, I went outside to fast travel but she was standing right there waiting for me. So for some reason she won't appear within the Fighter's Guild if you sleep strange hours (less than 10 apparently) then I proceeded to try the Bruma guild, a 10 hour nap made her appear. I decided to head back to Chorrol to try it one more time in the Fighter's Guild there and sure enough, the 10 hour wait time is the trigger when sleeping.

I think this potentially makes her just like Lucien except the requirement seems to be a strange combination of sleep/wait times (with her potentially appearing outside on a rare occassion), unless using a 10 hour for either of the choices. In all possibility, that could mean she could appear within Oblivion Gates however in my character's playthrough I haven't progressed the story to that point yet...and I am not entering the Shivering Isles yet due to not wanting to unlock any of those achievements so I can keep everything in order (except the main quest, which will have the very first achievement at the start...then the rest at the end).

Sorry for the mouth-full on that, what do you ya'll think on it? She starts far enough away from when you enter the area she and the necromancers are at that you can avoid her, killing her buddies doesn't seem to catch her attention either (just the confrontation). That's why fast-travel is possible, since I'm assuming her class hasn't changed yet or something. TVthePunisher 04:30, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

It also may be worth noting that she doesn't seem to attack ANYONE else, even if they're swarming her. Her primary focus is you. I ran out through the back door of the lobby, she for some reason runs out the front door and gets stuck at the gate. The Imperial Battlemage keeps attacking her and she just stands at the gate, staring at me. This also occurred previously when three mages were in the lobby including Raminus, they all went after her but not once did she take her focus from me (I just defended against her, no attacking on my part). An additional note is that when I finally let her die in the Arcane University, I dragged her body out to where the Apprentices meet to be taught by a Scholar. I have her laying on one of the benches and she has not disappeared from the game so I assume she is one of the corpses that remains indefinitely (at a week has passed in-game time). I'm not sure if her body does this regularly (as in killing her where you're SUPPOSED to kill her) but regardless, just adding this note. TVthePunisher 22:51, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
