Hidden Door?[edit]

I'm in the third zone of Nenalata, but I can't find the hidden door marked by I on the map. Do you have to be on the quest for Umbacano to use this hidden door? Ong elvin 22:33, 29 January 2008 (EST)

Yes, that should be the door that's part of the related quest. That information hasn't been added to the article yet because it's the type of information that needs to be added by a player who is exploring the dungeon (almost all of the existing contents of the article were automatically generated by a program that extracted the information directly from the Oblivion.esm file, and details of when/where/what opens a door are too tricky to automatically extract). The big box at the top of the page stating "Needs walkthrough information" means that the page is on the list of ones that still need work. --NepheleTalk 00:00, 30 January 2008 (EST)
Ah, okay, thanks for the explanation. I'll just add that note in then. Ong elvin 02:05, 30 January 2008 (EST)
A kinda late question, but is there an example of a good location page? Something I can use as an example as I rewrite location articles. I've been looking around a bit, but I'm not sure which ones constitute good dungeon examples. (Plus there are a lot of locations.) Ong elvin 18:22, 14 February 2008 (EST)
The Oblivion Places Redesign Project provides some general information on what type of information needs to be added to the pages, and also includes a few links to pages that already have been done and can be used as examples. Just ask if you have any more questions! --NepheleTalk 18:39, 14 February 2008 (EST)
Ah, cool, thanks. Why didn't I think of that? xD Ong elvin 09:57, 15 February 2008 (EST)

OPRP Status[edit]

I noticed this article is still listed under the Oblivion Places Redesign Project, and was wondering what still needs to be done to bring this page up to par? I would be happy to do anything that doesn't require use of the CS. Xmlninja 21:06, 8 October 2008 (EDT)

Yes, the next step doesn't require the use of CS (it could help, but is not necessary). The OPRP page gives detail on what needs to be done, but in summary; it needs a walkthrough. You can check this [[UESPWiki:Oblivion Places Redesign Project/Example|example]] as reference. Once you're done you can remove the OPRP tag. --Timenn < talk > 09:04, 11 October 2008 (EDT)
Thanks, Timenn. I'm working on a walkthrough for this dungeon, should be done within two weeks (thoroughness and all that jazz). --Xmlninja 08:55, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

Civil War?[edit]

I visited here after starting Secret of the Ayleids, but before Umbacano shows up. I'm a sneaker, and when I entered the Wendesel section the two liches from the first two rooms were fighting one another. It took a while, but one killed the other. Then near the end of the zone there was only one lich with about 100 health. Sure enough, a lich body was over in the corner. To verify that this wasn't one in a million, I went back to a save from where I left Umbacano's manor and sure enough, the fighting was going on again. Have others seen this here, or am I unusually lucky? I know the aggression may be high, but I'm surprised the liches aren't in the same faction or don't have some other means of recognizing one another. I'm on a console, but would be interested to know if the CS reveals some cause. Who knows, maybe it's some intentional effect for this ruin, to show how the Ayleids broke down... Probably not, but a cool thought.--DoubleGrande 00:17, 25 February 2009 (EST)

No, liches don't like each other. As it says on the lich creature page, "If two full Liches spawn near each other in a dungeon they are very likely to start fighting each other." --Gaebrial 04:15, 25 February 2009 (EST)
Thanks for the link. I've since seen this happen elsewhere (during the Ultimate Heist I think).--DoubleGrande 21:15, 3 March 2009 (EST)

Nenalata 2nd iron gate?[edit]

I can't seem to figure out how to open the 2nd iron gate in the ruins of Nenalata(at F on the map of the first level). It seems like I've tried everything. Is it a bug or am I missing something?

Thanks!

As specified in the walkthrough, it will open once you are close enough to it. Just walk up to it and it should slide down. --SerCenKing Talk 23:46, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that doesn't work. I think my game is bugged. — Unsigned comment by 75.73.67.58 (talk) on 6 March 2010
Hmm, I'm afraid it is then. If you're on PC, try using tcl --SerCenKing Talk 09:58, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Pardon my ignorance, but what is tcl? By the way, thanks for taking the time to help out!

  • tcl is a command which you can enter into the in-game console (available only in the PC version). It disables the collision for whatever object you target (most practically the player - yourself), allowing the object to pass through anything (much like a ghost would). When activated on the player, the tcl command allows you to fly, pass through objects, or even leave the boundaries of the cell (which creates interesting effects). Missing Person[edit]

Ive waited the three days after being told to meet Umbacano at Nenalata, and he hasn't appeared. But Maric has. So i waited another week, and he still hasn't appeared. But i haven't been told that Umbacano is dead. What the hell is going on and how do i deal with it?

Had the same problem - had to use the console. Typed "prid 0002b445" followed by "moveto 14". This got Umbacano to appear in front of me then the quest continued as normal. 220.244.145.54 12:46, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Nenalata Wendesel Image Orientation[edit]

The image used for Nenalata Wendesel (the second zone) should be rotated for accuracy. The first room is actually oriented east-to-west, with the entry from the first zone being from the east (instead of north-to-south and northern entry). 24.138.8.13 03:37, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

It's not the image that's incorrect, it's the game itself. I've noted that in the bugs section. Robin Hoodtalk 08:58, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Exterior treasure[edit]

Cannot find the treasure south of the entrance, east of the nirnroot. I believe it is supposed to be the Ayleid Chest. PS3, GOTY edition, updated. I found the other exterior treasure near the nirnroot. Searched around, cannot find the second treasure. Edit: I have both crowns, but have not presented them to Umbacano. I want to clear Nenalata first. WaffleHouse2t2 (talk) 05:36, 6 August 2023 (UTC)

You can't find it because this chest is embedded in the wall of the ruin and can't be seen or accessed without the UOP or the use of console commands. Since you're on PS3, you're unfortunately out of luck. I've noted this issue in the article; thanks for bringing it up! — Wolfborn(Howl) 19:34, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
