Friendly Necromancer?[edit]

I had a strange occurrence where I had killed 4 of the 5 necromancers, and the last one was non-hostile (disposition 88). Is there a way to check what his factions are to see why? 76.65.30.168 01:23, 28 August 2009 (UTC) -Nayrb

Information on various necromancers can be found here, including the ones in Howling Cave, and their faction can be found here. These don't seem to be any different than your standard aggressive NPCs. It is possible that your Personality was high enough that it offset their aggresion (see here), but that should have affected all the NPCs unless aggresion is somehow variable for generic enemies, but I can't say for certain. For what it's worth, I've had the same thing happen with a Dremora, but I can't remember what my attributes were at the time. -Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs) 02:31, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Potions?[edit]

I was clearing the cave during Meridia's quest and noticed that each of the necromancers in the cave had an abnormally large number of Strong Healing and Strong Sorcery potions. Necros usually have some of both, but most of the time they seem to have 3 of each. In this cave each of the 5 necromancers had 30(!) of each potion.

I don't know why they had that many, and I'm not sure how to check the CS to see why (when I looked at their inventories in it, each only had a count of 1 for each potion, not 30). The only significant mod I have is UOP.

Anyway, Might be worth a note on the page, if for no other reason than it's a handy place to pick around 150 Strong Healing and Strong Sorcery potions. 128.187.0.164 04:44, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Here it is explained why they have that many amount of potions, but to avoid you the bother of finding the section where it's explained here it is:
Because the five Necromancers in Howling Cave are spawned at the start of the game, a leveling quirk causes these NPCs to have unusually large numbers of potions, especially at higher levels. --MC S'drassa T2M 04:51, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Respawning[edit]

Do the necromancers respawn? --92.19.120.216 11:07, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

You can easily test that yourself; kill them all, exit cave and wait for 73 hours. An easier alternative is to read the page, where it is said that the Necromancers doesn't respawn. --Krusty 14:33, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
