Ulrich Leland[edit]

Someone should add that ulrich leland also arrives with the cheydinhal soldier under the section like they did with vierra lerus— Unsigned comment by 75.34.20.30 (talk) on 16 May 2010

Um, it's already there, in the first chunk of text.--S'drassa T2M 03:47, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

What will happen to all Bruma Ally Soldiers after the Great Gate Battle?[edit]

I'm wondering what scripts are when activated after the player returns from the Great Gate. I've noticed MQ14SoldiersLeaveBattlefield (0x0003e477) is activated, but what happens hereafter? All soldiers and their tents in Bruma will eventually get disabled if I'm correct, but my question is when this will exactly happen in the main quest. Perhaps if Paradise is started? Or when the entire main quest has been completed? Also, the page of Viera Lerus displays she will keep going back and forth between Bravil and Bruma since her tent is still there, but from what I've seen all tents are actually disabled?! Wonder if someone can answer this. C0rTeZ48 (talk) 17:31, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

Here's the sequence of events for the soldiers: When the player returns from the Great Gate and talks to Martin on the battlefield, the result script of Martin's dialogue (0x0003d7ed, "We won a great victory here today!..." etc.) updates MQ14 to Stage 60. When this happens, Viera Lerus and Ulrich Leyland (if present) will begin travelling back to their respective cities, and the generic allied soldiers will pick the MQ14SoldiersLeaveBattlefield AI package, which directs them to travel to an invisible marker located just outside Bruma's east gate. When they arrive there and the AI package finishes, MQ13SoldierScript (0x0003d5ef), which is a script attached to each generic ally, will disable them, removing them from the game.
The camps and equipment in Bruma, however, are disabled by the result script of MQ15 Stage 20, which is set when the player steps through Martin's portal and arrives in Paradise. So from the player's perspective, the allied soldiers disappear as soon as the battle is over, but their equipment effectively remains in Bruma until the player returns from Paradise. Which I found rather odd when I played through the main quest for the first time ("You mean they took off and left all their stuff behind? I'm sure the people in Bruma are impressed--not!").
As far as Viera Lerus continually returning to Bruma, her MQ11VieraLerusBrumaSleep package (0x00026f02) tells her to find a place to sleep near reference MQ11BravilAllyMarker (0x00026ec1), located in cell BrumaExterior02 (05, 36). The fact that the tent, bedroll, etc. are all disabled and she wouldn't find a place to sleep there doesn't matter; the package will still send her to the marker to look for one. And since the package doesn't check to see whether MQ14 is finished, it will be picked at midnight every day, causing her to head back toward Bruma until 6:00am, when the package finishes.
Hope this clarifies things! — Wolfborn(Howl) 22:59, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
