Rumors about being killed[edit]

In my game i encountered a bug where if you ask some people in the imperial city about rumors they say 'Amantius allectus was killed in a burglary and his house was ransacked!' but then i went to his house and he was still alive. is this a quest that they left out of the game? has anyone else found this? — Unsigned comment by 68.199.241.177 (talk) at 21:43 on 28 February 2007‎ (UTC)

No, it's not a quest left out of the game but rather a dialogue glitch related to May the Best Thief Win. After you've completed that quest but only if you did not kill Amantius (or anyone else), this rumor will start to appear. --Nephele 21:16, 4 March 2007 (EST)
I keep hearing complaints about the wrong rumor people say, so I might as well give some advice: Just kill him. Then the rumor will be true and, if you've already done May the Best Thief win, you won't get a blood price. 24.233.128.66 01:23, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Bloodstains[edit]

Amantius Allectus does have some rather interesting bloodstains on the floor in his basement. I wonder what happened? --moiety, a random player — Unsigned comment by Example (talkcontribs) at 21:12 on 28 April 2010 (UTC)

The new text on the page gives a lot of backstory on this, but I'm unsure where the information comes from.
Apparently he wanted to make a plant species that fed on blood. As the plants grew they desired better blood, first from rats and other vermin, then human blood (which he had to get from a healer, bribing her not to talk too). Finally, Amantius got fed up with the plants and killed them.
Can anybody find the evidence for this? If not, it should be deleted. --RpehTalk 06:31, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
Check out his diary. --Saruuk 07:48, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
Okay, add one stupid point to me. I searched everywhere in the house but didn't think to read the diary. Thanks Saruuk. --RpehTalk 07:52, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
What the heck. It's an interesting story so I've added an image. --RpehTalk 14:00, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
The blood-drinking plants are a reference to the movie Little Shop of Horrors. 71.221.99.242 14:00, 5 October 2008 (EDT)

Aggress[edit]

Suprisingly he has a higher amount of aggersion than other Npcs (10) which means that he will attack you when his disposition is low enough.Does somebody now why does he have higher aggression than other NPCs? Sayonara 21:16, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Some people just have a higher aggression, like in real life. There is no particular reason for it. It was probably done to add some variety. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 21:30, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
It's probably so if he sees you stealing his Diary he'll attack you on sight... complicating the whole "Do not kill him" thing.--Arch-Mage MattTalk 20:14, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

Locked Door[edit]

Does anyone know why he has a door in his house that leads nowhere an can't be unlocked by his key? — Unsigned comment by 91.109.45.72 (talk) at 11:21 on 18 February 2010 (UTC)

It's there so Methredhel can enter the house without difficulty during the May the Best Thief Win quest. She "owns" the door along with the Allectus family because she's in the Amantius Allectus Door Owners faction. rpeh •TCE 13:53, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
