Bug[edit]

Posted undocumented bug. Yasgur 00:40, 15 October 2008 (EDT)

Thanks for the willingness to help, but I'm pretty sure that this isn't a bug, at least not on the PC version. I did some testing, both in the game and in the Construction Set, and came up with the following facts:
  • Picking up the Amulet before starting the quest, will result in Satyana forcing conversation with you and thus starting the quest.
  • Even if you then use the console to remove the quest again, Satyana will not force a conversation with you if you pass her.
  • The infinite choice loop is a known problem which can easily occur in modding. I've checked the dialogue in the Construction Set, and the infinite loop should not and does not occor in this situation.
Are you playing on the Xbox, by any chance? In that case, it may be an Xbox specific bug, but I doubt that that's the case. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 11:48, 16 October 2008 (EDT)

Well, it's still bugged on my system. I use a PC with both expansions installed along with the 1.6.1820 patch. I have a fairly modest mod list. I just checked with an old level one save with the mods active and a new character with the mods disabled. I tgm'd and made my way to the tomb, making a save outside with both characters.

If I enter the tomb, talk to Satyana and tell her that I'll help, she follows me to her "father's" remains and starts the following convo when I pick up the amulet.

So you found my father's amulet. Just hand it over and I'll let you keep whatever else you wish.

There are two responses, give her the amulet or keep it. If I give it to her, she says that she's going to look around some more and that's it.

If I enter the tomb and walk past her without speaking she stays in place. After picking up the amulet and returning to the entrance, she initiates the same dialog as above, but selecting either response (give it or keep it) results in a permanent loop.

This occurs with both the old save with mods and the new game without.Yasgur 22:37, 3 November 2008 (EST)

Grammatical Error?[edit]

Should the name "Augustus' Amulet" have a '[sic]' after it? Technically if the person's name were "Augustus" then technically the amulet's name ought to be "Augustus's Amulet".

Arguably it could have been done on purpose to match the archaic 'biblical' style, but that seems unlikely unless other parts of Morrowind have also done this.

No, this is correct. The wiki tends to not add an s after the apostrophe for proper nouns. That's how the games tend to do things as well; it's not archaic. —Dillonn241 (talk) 19:47, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
Perhaps archaic is the wrong word, but Wikipedia notes that "'s" is the more modern style and in my experience it seems to be more common. Either way, if the older style is commonplace in the actual game then I'll take that as gospel. Pharap (talk) 10:36, 17 August 2019 (UTC)

routinely disabled[edit]

Whether agreeing to hand over the amulet or not, using Command Humanoid on her to lead her outside does not work— she will disappear as soon as you exit the tomb.

You can enable her to have her come back into existence, but if summoned to your location via position or positioncell she may be susceptible for some time but after an uncertain period of time or after so much distance traveled she will again be removed by her script. You can enable her again and again but she will continue to pop out of existence seemingly at random. Chill fridge (talk) 13:02, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
