Map error[edit]

Hey, Isn't Gnisis Roderan(sp?)? The Roderan DO take taxes from them in the main Roderan quests.--Juz 10:54, 6 May 2008 (EDT)

There is no REDoran prescence in the town, and none of the NPCs belong to House Redoran. I am unsure as to which quest you are referring to, but the only authority in Gnisis is definately the Imperial Legion. --HMSVictoryTalk 11:07, 6 May 2008 (EDT)
Umm, yes and no. Hetman Abelmawia is the village steward for Hlaren Ramoran, Redoran councilor and Lord of Gnisis. The good lord has been neglecting the region and wants his Taxes from Gnisis. However, the Imperial Legion is renting substantial buildings from House Redoran in Gnisis, provides protection and is the presence in town... --BenouldTC 11:54, 6 May 2008 (EDT)
Thanks for that. Anyway, I think it's fair to say that Gnisis is not a Redoran town. The only obvious reason to suggest that would be the architecture of the houses. --HMSVictoryTalk 11:57, 6 May 2008 (EDT)

Vivec's Ash Mask[edit]

Isn't the true ash mask revealed by activating the pillar while carrying a potion of cure disease? The article says it revealed by activating the fake mask. Sigil 01:07, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

It isn't very clear (it took me a while to figure out what to do). In order to learn the spell "Vivec's Touch" you have to carry a "Cure Disease Potion" (you can buy one in the temple) and touch the big pillar near the fake mask in the Gnisis Temple second floor. It will ask you whether you want to offer the potion as a tribute, say yes and it will cure your afflictions. Activate the pillar again and the pillar will open, showing the real mask. Touch the real mask and you will learn "Vivec's Touch", it will also update your journal (related to the pilgrimage quest) --85.55.195.228 15:00, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

Fort Darius[edit]

Why isn't this counted as a Fort at the bottom of the little blue box thingee(sorry I don't know abetter name for it). You can use Divine Intervention to get there and it's a Fort....--Archer7 01:46, 1 December 2011 (UTC)

Fort Darius has no page of its own to link to. Also, it is not really much of a building. It is just a wall. --Brf 22:13, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
True, but the same goes for Fort Pelagiad. For consistency, either Fort Darius should be added or Fort Pelagiad removed. I'm slighty in favor of the former, since technically it is a fort. I will tweak the relevant template. Wolok gro-Barok 22:24, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
It is basically a wall, but it's still a fort. I agree with Wolok gro-Barok. Either or is fine, I was just wondering why this wasn't considered a fort. --Archer7 21:56, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
Well, Fort Pelagiad is more than a wall. It is an enclosed area maybe half the size of the town, while Fort Darius is just a single wall, enclosing nothing. I suppose it does not matter much, since there is an Interior cell name "Fort Darius". --Brf 23:57, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Obtaining Vivec's Touch from Shrine of Justice[edit]

Ironically, there are more detailed instructions for obtaining the Spell, Vivec's Touch, on the Blighted Queen quest page than in the Gnisis Temple section of this page. This may very well be as it should be, but it seems ironic. Downstrike (talk) 07:08, 5 April 2013 (GMT)

Buying Scrolls?[edit]

Am I missing someone, or is there no one in Gnisis - other than Ashalmawia with only his targeted blight cures - available to sell you needed scrolls? Mehra Drora, on the bottom level of the Temple, has paper to sell, so she might buy scrolls, but in that case, they're not likely to be scrolls one needs.

Unless I'm mistaken about this, I think the page should have a note about this. Downstrike (talk) 04:43, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Deathshead Garrison[edit]

The section about Fort Darius mentions that the garrison in Fort Darius is completely made up of orcs, but I find this information largely irrelevant, since there are Imperial legionnaires in the Deathshead garrison. Should it simply read "The Deathshed garrison based in Gnisis and Fort Darius is made up mostly of Orc legionnaires" as opposed to only mentioning the composition of the garrison physically inside Fort Darius.--ThomasTheWest (talk) 18:24, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Fort Darius itself is staffed exclusively by Orcs, but the wording in that section was misleading as it implied that the entire Deathshead Legion was composed exclusively of Orcs. I have done some copyediting and cleanup on the article in general and included a mention of the mixed nature of the garrison in the main introductory text, and I reworded the Fort Darius section to focus on the services available there. — Wolfborn(Howl) 20:37, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Redoran Lordship[edit]

As the Imperial Legion only manages the day-to-day security of the town, in conjunction with the Redoran who have actual lordship of the town (Hetman Abelmawia being the local House administrator for Hlaren Ramoran, Lord of Gnisis), shouldn't the listed alignment of the town be to House Redoran? The Imperial fort itself was also built with the help of the Redoran, who presumably invited the Legion to manage security in lieu of the original House garrison. (Of course, this exact detail is conjecture, but it's pretty explicit that the Redoran hold lordship and thus ownership of Gnisis)--ThomasTheWest (talk) 15:03, 13 February 2023 (UTC)
