Bug?[edit]

I can't seem to give the potion to the guy. I assume you need him to teach you but the he tells me that he couldn't teach much to me because I'm clever or what not. The other option is thanking him which absolutely does nothing. — Unsigned comment by 112.202.26.86 (talk) at 19:42 on 16 October 2011

Needs checking. All the dialogue is there so I can't see why this wouldn't work. rpeh •TCE 23:26, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Did you have the correct potion? I just did this quest, gave him the potion and got my reward as expected. If you do not have a Quality Fortify Strength Potion in your inventory, he'll just say he's very busy and that there is nothing he could teach such a clever fellow such as yourself. If you do, however, the quest updates to stage 10 and he will offer you the Alchemy skill book. I'm inclined to remove the GQ-tag, but I'll leave it up here in case the original contributor sheds more light on the case. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 19:16, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
Okay, having taken a look at the scripts it looks like there's a potential problem. You hand over the potion during the Greeting, but only if you haven't talked to Balur Salvu before. As far as I can see, if you've talked to him previously, you won't get the quest update. I'll see if I can dig out an old save and test this. rpeh •TCE 11:11, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
Yup, I'm right. You can only hand over the potion (and only get the book) if you don't talk to Salvu until you've been given the potion. I've removed the GQ tag and I'll add a note on the article. rpeh •TCE 11:19, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
