Detect Life

Detect Life is being marked as Alteration spell on this page. Yet the skill itself says it is part of Mysticism in Oblivion. Only in Skyrim it appeared in Alteration. Thus this chart should be corrected. — Unsigned comment by 80.136.60.46 (talk) on 21:27 2 June 2018 UTC

The different colored backgrounds show that it belongs to another school in that game. They are included to show where spells came from and where they went (see Skyrim's Carry weight), as compared to the previous or succeeding games. Only if they come back from a different school will all the instances appear (as with Paralyze), otherwise once it moves it is no longer relevant (as with the resist spells, which continue to exist but are not included under Skyrim on this page).
