Hehe Seems Bethesda muddled up the Vittelus/Viranus names in this journal!----Willyhead 12:41, 13 June 2007 (EDT) 12:40, 13 June 2007 (EDT)

What does "I fear he is naive as he is beautiful" supposed to mean? — Unsigned comment by 64.131.11.144 (talk)

Earlier in the journal, Viranus praises Eduard's loyalty and companionship so it could just be a comment on his personality but it would seem to me that there is a certain attraction between Viranus and his friend. After all, I'm sure there is the Tamriel equivalent of Don't Ask, Don't Tell in the Fighters Guild :-) --RpehTalk 10:12, 2 October 2007 (EDT)

Well, in a certain retrospect, we can deem this as one of two things in the game:

  • In the time and place of Cyrodiil, one would interpret "as naïve as he is beautiful" would simply be comparing naïve to what then would have meant something of how great he was for saving him from the pergatory that had riddled his life since the loss of his brother, which caused his mother to refuse him allowance to work in contracts. It didn't necessarily imply a love or attraction.
  • However, it could have also proved an attraction between the two. In comparison, there are many other instances where one man in the game would love another man, or a woman would love another woman. Who knows? Maybe Bethesda wanted to add a touch of subtle homosexuality to the game. (Since, back in the time this would seemingly be place, male on male love wasn't considered akward or different. Just look at the all-male brothels that rittled much of India and Egypt's lands back in the earlier times.)

Eh, I imply that this referred to a love between the two. Just what came to mind when I read the journal. (Oh god, now I'm thinking of my first reactions to the "polish my spear" comment in the Lusty Argonian Maid book. xD)

Gay?[edit]

Is it possible? He seemed to have compassion for his Redguard friend, Eduard. It would be cute. Lol. Jeanne Frasoric 08:47, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

The possibility is covered in-depth on Viranus' own page. --Krusty 09:38, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
