Purchasing Stolen Items?[edit]

For whatever reason, he is able to purchase my stolen items. This may be a onetime bug (XBox 360). This character hasn't completed any major quest-lines but it has the Fence perk. Can anyone else confirm this? I will see if it continues after I leave Solstheim for awhile and come back. Zuuk Cyrodiil (talk) 20:44, 16 November 2013 (GMT)

Have you invested in him? If you have invested in him them you can sell him stolen items. Jeancey (talk) 21:07, 16 November 2013 (GMT)
No, I have not; you can't invest in him. In fact, as far as I know there are no merchants on Solstheim that can be invested in (not rigorously tested). Glover Mallory's page claims that there are no <normal?> fences on Solstheim at all, so I was surprised when stolen items appeared in the sell list. Might this be a bug with the fence perk itself? It may be related to the fence dialogue he has (mentioned on the main page). Unfortunately, I have invested in every merchant I have met so far and have no present way to test it without scouring the world for a merchant I haven't invested in. It seems that, (at least with my save) once you have the Fence perk, any merchant will purchase stolen goods. I thought it was only supposed to be the ones invested in. Can this be confirmed? Zuuk Cyrodiil (talk) 23:03, 16 November 2013 (GMT)
