Stalhrim Source[edit]

The Stalhrim Source

The only relatively even approach to the area is from the west through a gap in the mountains reached by passing over the rocks west of White Ridge Barrow and proceeding north and east, though you may also approach by descending the mountains from other directions. A stone fence runs along the top of the sunken circular ruin, with a gap in the fence on the west side allowing access to the curved stairs. Descending the stairs reveals ten sarcophagi frozen over with stalhrim. Three sarcophagi are to the north, three are to the south, two are to the west partly buried in snow, and two are in the center. The eight outer sarcophagi are upright, while the two in the center are horizontal. After you've mined the stalhrim from each of the sarcophagi, you can loot the uncovered draugr corpses.

Notes[edit]

  • The map marker for this location does not appear until after you have read the Stalhrim Source Map obtained during the related quest. If you do not read the map before returning it to Baldor, the map marker will be added upon completing the quest.

Bugs[edit]

  • You may be unable to mine the stalhrim deposits after they respawn. They will appear icy, but will only offer the option to "search draugr". Fast traveling away from the cell and then returning will enable the deposits, allowing you to mine them normally.
  • On PlayStation On PSVR, you may need to strike or mine the deposits more often than is necessary in other versions of the game, a few dozen times per ore.
