Skyrim:Netch Leather

Netch Leather can be harvested from slain Netches. Armor made from the material is lightweight, and is usually decorated, such as with Charcoal, or strengthened by boiling the material. As a result, variants of the armor exist.

Netch Leather is added by the Dragonborn DLC but crafting armor from it can only be done with the Netch Leather Armor Creation installed.

Netch Leather Smithing[edit]

Netch Leather Smithing requires the completion of the quest More Than You Can Chew. A free set of painted netch leather gear can be collected from the chest in the Riekling camp. A full set of regular netch leather gear can be collected by completing the additional objective from reading the Crafting with Netch Leather book and traveling to Fort Hraggstad. Doing this will also get you the netch leather boots artifact known as the Boots of Blinding Speed.

Netch leather armor can be tempered with a single tanned netch leather. One netch leather can be converted into one tanned netch leather at a tanning rack. The armor material is considered leather for the Matching Set perk.

Netch Leather Armor[edit]

The cuirass is on par with scaled armor. The regular shield sits between a leather and an elven shield in terms of armor stats, while the tower shield scores a bit worse than a glass shield on that regard, and in terms of weight sits between dragonscale and stalhrim. However, the other pieces of armor are equivalent to glass.

Boiled Netch Leather[edit]

Despite having the same recipe, the only difference between the boiled versions and the regular versions (aside from gold value) are its armor stats, with the cuirass' sitting between scaled and glass armor, and the helmet being superior to even the dragonscale and amberCC helmets.

Shadowed Netch Leather Armor[edit]

Shadowed Netch leather armor is the same as the regular version, except for the need of a piece of charcoal to create each piece of armor, surpassing the regular version with 1 point of base armor rating. That makes for instance, the boots, gauntlets and helmet equivalent to dragonscale armor.

Shadowed Boiled Netch Leather Armor[edit]

Similar to the regular versions of the boiled armor and helmet, the shadowed boiled netch leather pieces have superior stats to the regular shadowed pieces. The cuirass scores a little worse than glass armor in terms of armor rating, though also weighing slightly less. The helmet has a whopping score of 22, the dragonscale helmet pales in comparison with a rating of 17.
