Merge with Vampire Page[edit]

Sounds good to me. --Xyzzy Talk 02:35, 6 October 2012 (GMT)

I'm not opposed to this, but if we go ahead with it, we should probably separate those vampires which are a part of normal leveled lists for random vampires from those that aren't. For example, this type of vampire uses the leveled lists, but only appears in certain locations, such as Dayspring Canyon. On the other hand, the other vampires on that page can appear in any vampire lair. — ABCface 03:22, 6 October 2012 (GMT)
Sorry, but since nobody's said anything for a while: I think it should be merged too, but I don't know how (if I can). And since I'm trying to clean out the rapidly dwindling empty pages list, it'd be nice to either have this merged (and then filled in) or definitely here to stay (and then filled in :P). So, perhaps a vote? ;) --Vulpa 03:27, 27 December 2012 (GMT)
Actually, looking at this again, I'm opposed to this. The Dawnguard Scout has its own page, I think the Vampire Scout should too. They're both encountered in only certain situations/locations, and are unique enough to warrant their own pages, once the information is filled out. — ABCface 04:12, 27 December 2012 (GMT)
I have to agree that it should not be merged. The vampire page is going to be long enough as it is, and as ABCface mentioned, other similar NPCs (like Dawnguard Scout and Vampire Assassin) have their own pages too. eshetalk 17:36, 23 January 2013 (GMT)

Bug that turn dawnguard hostile.[edit]

Two of those spawned after I recruited Gunmar and Sorine et got Serena back. At the same time I got two radiant quests (the one related to the crossbow and another to kill a vampire in disguise). So the problem is: If you shoot one of those before they notice you and turn hostile it adds a bounty in whiterun.

I cannot guarantee that bounty was the cause of dawnguard turning hostile but it may need more tests. Huillam (talk) 09:07, 1 November 2012 (GMT)

I never get near enough to the Dawnguard to see their reaction and if they turn hostile, but I keep getting the bounty-in-Whiterun bug too, and it happens even if they go hostile first and attack me and I'm merely defending myself. Alarra (talk) 02:36, 4 January 2013 (GMT)

Their Role[edit]

"Their sole purpose is to assassinate you."

Really? That's their sole purpose? Because I would have thought that being Vampire Scouts, their primary purpose would be to, you know, scout. Sure, they'll attempt to kill the Dragonborn if he/she just happens to stumble upon the scouts while they're scouting, but I still rather believe that scouting is their main job. Otherwise they'd be called Vampire Assassins, which the game already has.174.0.228.60 16:55, 23 May 2014 (GMT)

These enemies spawn in order to ambush the player. Their name is of no relevance to their actual function. —Legoless (talk) 16:57, 23 May 2014 (GMT)
It's of some relevance. They do, after all, spawn near the Dawnguard's home base which is precisely where you'd expect to find an enemy scout. If they were identified as "Vampire Hairdresser" or "Vampire Soccer Coach" then I'd agree with you.174.0.228.60 19:33, 23 May 2014 (GMT)
Logically, yes, but that's not their gameplay mechanic. A troll lives in a cave and a scout is found near an enemy base; I don't think either is noteworthy. Perhaps the sentence could be reworded to reflect this? "They will ambush the player near Fort Dawnguard" or something? —Legoless (talk) 20:40, 23 May 2014 (GMT)
I don't think it's noteworthy either. I just thought the previous "their sole purpose is to destroy you" note was both hilarious and unnecessary since the same could be said of any automatically-hostile NPC/creature in the game. Funnier if you're looking at it from a narrative viewpoint rather than purely a game mechanics viewpoint.24.114.40.187 21:24, 23 May 2014 (GMT)
