Dead Thrall Questions[edit]

I'm wondering if he's truly undead and can be thralled up to level 50 with the necromage perk? Also rather curious if he respawns the Ancient Falmer Armor when thralled after looting it from him (multiple sets might be nice). Number 51 02:53, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

From what I've heard, he is affected by necromage and also respawns his armor. It would be nice to know if he was permanent though, it would be unfortunate if he wasn't. --71.236.235.123 22:14, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
hes not permanent, but you can use the ritual stone to obtain more sets of his armour if he is over level 50. — Unsigned comment by 77.99.185.89 (talk) at 21:48 on 4 August 2012
He can now be thralled with two creations, Bone Wolf and the Bloodworm Helm if you also have Necromange --SkyHiRider (talk) 13:31, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

Age?[edit]

How old is Vyrthur? I noticed in a play through he said "Child my life ended long before yours began" and I believe this was directed at serana, this is understandable as he is a vampire, but wouldn't this also mean his "mortal" brother gelebor would have be as old (1000 yrs+)? — Unsigned comment by 77.99.185.89 (talk) at 21:51 on 4 August 2012

Well given that the last true Snow Elves must've been born around 1E 300, they must be well into their 4000 years, at least. That's incredibly old, even for elves. Serana herself is more than 4000 years old though. Elakyn 19:46, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Discerning the Transmundane[edit]

His blood cannot be used for the quest Discerning the Transmundane. The option to extract does not appear when looting him for either falmer or high elf. I thought he might have worked for high elf, because his character is based on one, however that didn't work either. Should this be added to his notes or bugs section? I feel like this is a bug since he is clearly a falmer. 24.8.76.113 14:17, 22 July 2013 (GMT)

He is neither Falmer nor High Elf. He, along with Knight Paladin Gelebor, are Snow Elves and are quite possibly the Last of their kind. ***SPOILER*** The Falmer were Snow Elves, some may be descendants, but were corrupted by the Dwemer. The betreyal of the Dwemer twisted their minds and bodies, over the course of centuries, until the were unrecognisable and a new race, the Falmer, were born. There is a book, i think it belongs to Enthir, in the Winterhold inn which tells the story. ***SPOILER*** 82.132.235.123 04:33, 22 November 2013 (GMT)

Writing on the Elder Scrolls[edit]

So how does one come to write on an Elder Scroll? Do ya' have to be a Snow Elf??? — Unsigned comment by 120.28.254.241 (talk) at 10:42 on 23 December 2013

There is nothing to suggest you need to be a snow elf and lots of other prophecies exist. We don't really know how prophecies are created, but Vyrthur didn't write his on an Elder Scroll. He created it and much later a moth priest had it revealed to him across three scroll, and then Harkon became aware of it. The Scrolls are just reveal the prophecies that exist. --Jimeee (talk) 12:11, 23 December 2013 (GMT)

Regen[edit]

Whenever I get him down to 50% he starts regenerating health incredibly quickly, somewhere around 10 points per second. I can literally not damage him beyond this point. I'm at level 51 — Unsigned comment by 188.22.125.126 (talk) at 16:09 on 3 January 2016 (UTC)

Health Regeneration[edit]

I have Vyrthur as a dead thrall in Special Edition. He seems to regenerate health for some reason. I haven't seen this effect on any other dead thralls and cant find a reasonable explanation from his perks (Regeneration perk does not regenerate health). This effect is extremely useful for dead thralls and it makes him very powerful. Just curious what would cause this effect?
