Battlespire:Easter Eggs

This page is for Easter eggs only. Easter eggs include inside jokes, pop culture references, and any similar reference to something outside the Elder Scrolls games. For other points of interest, please see the appropriate pages.

Easter Eggs are secrets that the developers put in games to give people a laugh when they find them (provided that they understand the joke or reference). Battlespire has a large number of such jokes. Easter eggs differ from in-game references in that they have been clearly hidden from the player and are unusual with regards to their surroundings; references are often integrated into the rest of game and no attempt is made to keep them secret.

If you think you have found an Easter egg please post your idea on this article's talk page before adding it to this article.

Cultural References[edit]

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland[edit]

  • Just before the end of Level 1 there is secret area containing a Mock Turtle. This is a direct reference to the Mock Turtle from the Alice story, and its story bears many similarities such as formerly being a real turtle, and its schooling. The Mock Turtle makes reference to Mock Turtle Soup and its status as the Soup of Kings, where in Alice it was the Queen of Hearts who spoke of the soup. The turtle lastly makes a comment about studying Speculative Ontology; Ontology is the study of existence or reality, referencing the fantasy world Alice finds herself in.

Back to the Future[edit]

  • One of the five cogs needed to open the Star Galley Crib door in Level 1 is named the "Cog of Flux Capacitation", a reference to the Flux Capacitor which made time-travel possible.

English Folklore[edit]

  • Hernes, antlered daedra who hunt the player in Level 5, are likely inspired by Herne the Hunter, a huntsman ghost with antlers who is said to haunt Windsor Great Park.

Greek Mythology[edit]

  • One of the enchantments that raises the Swimming skill is named Triton, after the sea god Triton of ancient Greek myth.

Italian Dolomites[edit]

  • The picture of Skyrim in the race selection screen is actually a picture of the Dolomites mountain range.
